Hello and happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are safe and happy, and that you had a good week! On Friday I was, sadly, right and I caught a cold. A bad one, at that. My throat is hurting like hell and I am having a hard time concentrating. But since it is just a cold, I am quite positive that would pass soon!
What am I reading?

I am loving The Crimson Campaign and my only complaint is that I can’t spend as much time as I’d like with it, because it is a physical book, and lately I am doing the majority of my reading not at home, so I just have some reading sessions here and there, but every time I pick it up, it immediately absorbs me. It is such an immersive and captivating book, with so many amazing characters! And then I am finally reading Leviathan Wakes. I think that with this one my expectations didn’t help me out, because I was expecting to fall in love with it immediately, and… it’s not happened so far. But, but, I am highly invested in the story (and the author has an annoying habit of just ending chapters, especially the ones with more action in them, with cliffhangers! It is so annoying, but in the best possible way!) and I think that I could become really invested in the characters, too, with some time. And so far, I am really enjoying it so… not really complaining here!
What have I read?

The Final Gambit was a spur-of-the-moment read, because I was not so invested in The Stars Undying and I was considering DNF it (little spoiler: I did not finish that book) and I was in need of something good that would absorb me and also give me time to think a bit about what to do. And The Final Gambit is a great ending for a really captivating trilogy! I had an amazing time with it! Then, as I was saying, there is a book that I didn’t finish. I have read 100 pages but I couldn’t care less for any of the characters, and I wasn’t so invested in the story, so I just decided to let it go. Ever The Hero is one of the quarterfinalists of Team Red Stars for the SPSFC and even if it is not my cup of tea, and I didn’t particularly enjoy it, it wasn’t really a bad book. And then we have the biggest disappointment ever! Autopsy is the last book I would read about Kay Scarpetta. I loved the older books in this series, I really loved them, and the other evening I was feeling under the weather and in a bout of nostalgia, I decided to go back to it (even if the last books I have read weren’t really so good) but… nope. On one hand, it was fast reading, and when I started it I was quite curious because it has murder in space. I thought that it would have been perfect for sci-fi month, even if this is not a sci-fi book. But it sounded so promising… and I was so keen to go back to these characters, but it was a big disappointment.
What Would I Read?

First thing first, I know that I would start The Sins We Seek tomorrow or the day after. This week would start with some days off work for me, and I am planning to read this book. I loved the fist two and I need to see how this trilogy would end. And I miss Allegra and all the other characters so much! I just need to read this! And then I think I would read The Liar’s Knot. I am not so sure about this one, because I should be buddy reading it, but the girl with whom I should be doing it, is a little behind with her reading, so I don’t know if we would manage it or not. Anyway, I would read it pretty soon, I think!
Blogging and Personal Life
This week I have seen some book tags around, and they all were so nice! I may try my hands with those (or at least, with one of them) because I love book tags, even if I don’t do them often (I am just bad with choices). And then we will see because I don’t really have plans.
On a personal level, things are quite normal, cold notwithstanding. I really hope to feel better soon and go back to normal. But it is not really something bad so… All is okay, and I don’t have anything else to add!
And that’s all for today! How was your week? And you reading?? Let me know!!
Happy reading!

I hope you feel better soon! I was hoping to read Leviathan’s Wake this month too, but my plans didn’t work out. I actually love chapters that end in cliffhangers so I’ve got to try to read it😁

I’m sorry that Leviathan Wakes is not completely fulfilling its promises, but I’m sure that you will come to grow fond of the characters: in this first book of the series the POVs are only two – Miller and Holden – while the rest of the Rocinante crew sits a bit in the background; with the following books their “found family” will grow in depth and characterization and you will end up loving them. I’m sure of that! 🙂

I’ve seen a few DNFs on The Stars Undying – I made it through, but the beginning is for sure confusing and the middle is very slow. But yay, you have Liar’s Knot coming up!!
