WEEKLY WRAP-UP! #22

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you had a good week, and that you are looking forward to an even better one! This week was pretty good for me, even if I messed up here and there with my reading, but I would tell you more about this in a bit… So let’s start!

What am I reading?

I am pretty happy with my reading at the moment, and I am also feeling like a good bookworm because Ocean’s Echo is a book from my TBR and it’s an ARC, while Black Thorne is a book for SPSFC2. So I am feeling very productive. And on the plus side, both of these books are quite addictive! I am having a great time with both of them! And we at the team Red Stars (for SPSFC2) are reading together Black Thorne, so we will talk about it everywhere this week! And if you want to join us and discuss it on twitter you can!! (Also, it is free on Kindle Unlimited… just saying!)

What have I read?

So… here we have some of my “messes” for this week. The first one is The Sin In The Steel. It is an amazing book, and I am really happy to have finally read it. It is amazing, really! And I had it on my TBR since forever, or so it seems. The only problem was that I was convinced (and I can’t say why) that this was some sort of post-apocalyptic/dystopian thing… and it is not. At all. And mind me, I am not complaining, since I am not the biggest fan of post-apocalyptic and similar, the thing is that if I would have read the synopsis of the book I would read this one way sooner! Because it is something like Sherlock Holmes meets Amra Thetys, but made it bloodier. How could I resist something like that??? Then the second “mess” is Ninefox Gambit. When I wrote down my TBR for sci-fi month I thought about it for a couple of days and I kept repeating: I would put this book in there so that finally I would read it. I’ll have to put it there, should I write it down? Nooo. I can’t possibly forget this book, I wanted to read it so much! All would be fine, don’t write it down!
Guess what? The day came, I wrote and posted the TBR and… the damn book wasn’t in it! But I am a rebel, and so I have started it anyway. And I have also finished it! And enjoyed it. I didn’t love it as much as I was hoping, but I had a good time with it, and I loved the characters! And then there is The First Binding, which is a DNF for me, sadly. It is not bad, but I don’t like the way in which the MC tells the stories, and we have a lot of stories in there, and the author pays so much attention to details… and it is not always a bad thing, but this is a chunky chunky book, and it does not get better for it.

What Would I Read?

Yep, it’s still here because I get easily distracted. But I would read it, damn it!

Blogging and Personal Life

On the blogging side, I don’t have plans, but I have ideas. This should count for something, right? I mean, I hope to write at least a review and something sci-fi related, since we are celebrating Sci-Fi Month but I don’t really know what that would be so… surprise!!!

On a personal level, I am drowning in a sea of yarn. There are worse seas in which to drown, and I am quite happy but still, I should just do better at self-control. I have started so many projects, and I oscillate between sheer joy, because I have so much to do, and it can be so relaxing and so rewarding, and despair, because I have so much to do!! But I am enjoying the time I am spending crocheting or knitting, and it is usually relaxing and satisfying so… I am happy, even if sometimes I feel overwhelmed.
This week I also managed to have a lot of me-time, in the best possible way, and I visited a really nice show about Spirits and Ghosts from Japan, and I did some small touristing in a nearby city so… I am feeling way more relaxed! I just hope the feeling would keep me company for some time!

And that’s all for today! How was your week? And you reading?? Let me know!!

Happy reading!
S.

It was a really good week, noe I just have to hope that this one would be, too!! 💪 And I hope to post some pics soon, but the works in progress aren’t really interesting at the moment. Anyway, crochet is really versatile, you can do so many different things! There is something for everyone!
