Hello and happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all had a good week, and that you read some pretty amazing books! My week was good, and now I have a couple of days off work so I am really happy! And I am having some quality time with my books… Ahh, pure bliss!
What am I reading?

I know that I should at least try and read some titles from the list of books that I’d love to finish before the end of the year, but this time around is not completely my fault! Notorious Sorcerer is an unaxpected ARC I was approved for and ARCs should have some kind of priority, at least from time to time. And I am not feeling bad about this book. At all. Because it is just so good! It is beautiful, and we have some amazing characters. And I want more! And then I have started Line Of Polity, the second book in this series. And this is all Ola‘s fault. I am not taking the blame here!
What have I read?

Penric and the Shaman was a nice and fast read, and I really like Penric and Desdemona, but this series is not as good as the Vorkosigan one. I was curious to read more by this author, and I am not having a bad time with this series but… I am not in love with it. I think that I would read the next one, because I have a physical edition with the first three novellas there, so obviously I would read the one I am missing at the moment, but I think that I would stop after that. They are good, yes, but not special. Karen Memory was interesting and original. I don’t know if I’ll read the sequel, but I had a great time with this one. The Dinosaur Four was a book from last year SPSFC and I was pretty curious to read it, because… dinosaurs!!! But in the end I DNFed it. I read around the 60% of it, and at the beginning I was quite happy but it is a sort of trashy book with really despicable characters. I don’t mind the gore, and I was completely there for the first couple of deaths, but then I just started to lose interest and I couldn’t care less for the characters so I decided to let it go. And last but not least, we have a book that I started immediately after writing the list of books I want to read before the end of the year: The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. I loved it! It is full of geeky and nerdy references, it is adorable and sweet, and we have some really good characters! And a cat. Totally worth it.
What Would I read?

I may be a bit ambitious again here, because I have just started both of my reading so… I can always change my mind before it’s time to choose the next book, but there are some good chances that my next books would be The Crimson Campaign, because I am dying to go back to this series, and Westside, because this one was one of those books I put on hold while I was in a slump, and since I am trying to go back to them and decide their fate, this one seems the most likely candidate!
Blogging and Personal Life
On the blogging side I hope to keep with the routine I established since the beginning of September: a review (even if I have yet to decide which one to write! Argh!!), a top ten (and it would probably be about the series I am looking forward to continue/finish, and this one is again Ola‘s fault. Her amazing review made me want to go back to the first series by the author, and that made me also think about all the series I’d like to prioritize so… I was planning another top ten, but it seems likely that the one about the series would take precedence. And then I’ll share another post with my first impressions for another bunch of SPSFC books.
On a personal side it seems like the weather is getting better and better (aka Fall weather!). It is not properly Fall yet, but it is less hot, even if it was pretty hot a couple of days, but the mornings and the evenings are now cooler, and I am happy! I am slowly going back to watch some k-dramas too, and I am so happy about it (also, this Summer since I wasn’t so active on the blog and since I had the slump, I watched some series so I would probably share them with you all, sooner or later!) because I am enjoying them a lot!
And I am keeping up with crochet and knitting, and I am in love! I finished a shawl and I am still undecided on what to do next, crocheting wise. Maybe some pumpkin or some halloween’s amigurumi to let the Fall vibes free! And I am knitting my first scarf. It is slow going, but so satysfing!

This is the shawl I finished, and now I have to wait for the weather to cool enough for me to wear it. I am so looking forward to it!!! And I’ll leave you with a pic of my good boy, because it was quite some time from the last picture, and I just love to share Ade’s picture!

And that’s all for today! How was your week? And you reading?? Let me know!!
Happy reading!

I am totally taking all the blame, and proudly! 😀 I’m very happy you returned to the world of Polity, and I hope you’ll have a blast!
Also, I love that shawl!!! It’s absolutely gorgeous and you have some amazing crocheting skills, Susy! I’m not saying I’d kill to be able to crochet like you, but I’m hinting at it 😂😂😂

What a handsome dog Ade is, and the shawl looks fabulous.
I’m glad at least one of last week’s books was a hit. I’ve DNF’d a fair few books this year for the same reason of realising I just don’t care about the characters or story enough for it to be worth my time continuing with it.

Thank you!!! 😍
Yes, sometimes it can be hard to let books go, but there are so many amazing books out there that wasting the time on something that doesn’t work for us it is such a shame!

That shawl looks amazing. Me too have to stick to routine as I’m falling behind with reading. I should have done by now. Happy reading!
