MID YEAR FREAK OUT TAG!

Hello everyone! It is, once again, that time of the year and I am really excited to share this fun tag with you all, but as per usual I would cheat a bit because I can’t just choose one book for most of the prompt. It would be impossible. And torture. So I went with more than one book, but I tried my best to not choose too many of them. Also, there are two books that could go for almost all the prompts: In The Shadow Of Lightning and The Hourglass Throne, but I did my best to contain my fangirling self!

1. BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2022:

I think that In The Shadow Of Lightning would be my best book of the year, I know that I have still six months to go, and I really hope to read a lot of amazing books before 2022 would end but… but my heart is all with this one. And right up with this, we have Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett. When I first read this book, ages ago, I enjoyed it but not loved it. Now I loved it to pieces. If I have to choose just one I would go with McClellan’s book but this one was amazing.

2. BEST SEQUEL OF 2022 SO FAR?

This year was pretty good with sequels. I continued some beloved series and I had an amazing time reading all of them, but the two dearests to my heart are The Hourglass Throne, which is one of the best readings of 2022 so far because this book is so so so good. I had EXPECTATIONS for this one, and it exceeded them so much!!!! It was pure bliss… and so much hurt! It was perfect! And then there is The Thief Who Went To War. Amra and Holgren are amazing! Then we have The Mage Errant series. I have read the 4th one and the 3rd one this year (maybe the second one too, I can’t remember if I read it this year or the last one, but this is not important!) and they are just so so good. I really think this series deserves so much love!! And, last but not least, The Warrior’s Apprentice. This book was too much. And something more. Oh my!

3. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET, BUT WANT TO?

I really, really hope to read these two books soon. They sound too good to pass, and I need them now!

4. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF THE SECOND HALF OF 2022?

I am sure that there are a ton of interesting new releases in the second half of 2022, but the only one that comes to mind at the moment is this one. And I am really really curious about it!

5. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?

I can’t say that this was a bad book, because I would be lying, but I was expecting more, so much more from it. I would try the second one and see if things get better, especially now that I know what to expect from it, but it was disappointing, because I was expecting to love it. To really really love it, and instead it was just okay.

6. BIGGEST SURPRISE?

Well, you can definitely say that this book is surprising. Oh guy, how surprising is this!!! And funny. A lot. A lot more than a lot. I don’t have the words for this one, but oh wow! And yes, I think that like almost like all Klune’s books you need to be in the right mood for it, but it is so worth it. And it is cool. So So Cool. I think it is the most quotable book ever, really. So much banter. And sassiness. Bliss!

7. FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU) ?

These three books are really different from each other, but I loved them all to pieces. And obviously, now I need more from these authors! I may be a tad more in luck with Panatier since Stringers is his second book, so I can read the first one (and I really hope to do that soon!), while I hope to not have much to wait for Baldree’s books (because I really hope there would be more books!). Fresh Water For Flowers was astounding. And amazing. And I need to read more by this author because even if this was not my usual cup of tea, I loved it. Loved it so much!

8. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH? & 9. NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER?

Okay, here I may have gone a bit over the board but… But I couldn’t choose. All of these books (and series) have some really amazing characters, and you need to meet all of them. End of the story. You can thank me later!

10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY?

This one. It was so good. And amazing. And full of feelings and great banter. And humor and irony. It was perfect. And it hurts so much!!!!

11. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY?

A lot of books made me happy, but I decided to be good for once and to choose just one book, one that I haven’t mentioned in there before, but that surely deserves it! Good Neighbors was delightful and it made me happy. Also, just watching that cover made me happy!

12. FAVORITE BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION YOU’VE SEEN THIS YEAR?

None, I think. I think I haven’t watched any of those, at least so far.

13. FAVORITE REVIEW YOU’VE WRITTEN THIS YEAR?

So far I am not particularly proud or satisfied by any of my reviews, but I am rather fond of some of them, the most recent being the one for In The Shadow Of Lighting, and I know that I should tone it down but I can’t! Then there is the one for Legends & Lattes, because that book is the sweetest thing ever, and last but not least The Warrior’s Apprentice, because this series deserves so much love!!!

14. BOOKS YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR

This is virtually a never-ending list, but I really hope to read all of these before the end of the year, so wish me luck, please!!!!
