Summer Of Sequels! TBR

Hello everyone and happy Monday! I hope your week has started in the best possible way, and that you are looking forward to an exciting week! Today I am here to talk about a new challenge I find and that I really need so… let’s start!

Kristin at Kristin Kraves Books had an amazing idea to help with the bane and the bliss of my existence (and I know that I am not the only one here!): the series! And so I couldn’t resist, even more so because I decided to use the Summer month to catch up with my goals and continue/finish more series was one of the main ones, so I just had to join in!
I decided to put 15 books in this TBR because it is for the whole Summer, so I can mood-read a bit and also follow a TBR! And here they are:

So yeah, Name Of The Devil is a book that I am really planning to read, and start ASAP, because I need a break from fantasy, and I am in need of something that can really keep my attention alive. I really hope to love this one as much as I loved the first one, and since this is the second of a series, here it’s the right place for it! And then I really hope to read When Sorrows Come because this is the 15th book in this series, and it is almost time for the 16th book to come out, so I need to catch up. Also, I need to know if Toby would have her wedding or not. The waiting is killing me!!! Azura Ghost is a book that I really hoped to read some months ago, but here we are, so I hope to finally read it now, with the excuse of this challenge. Cast In Peril is the 8th book of this series, and so far I am madly in love with it, so obviously I hope to continue it soon!

I received an ARC for Locklands and since I have recently finished the second book of this series, I am really eager to know how things would end. And yes, I am scared. And I am curious. So I really hope to read it soon! And since I am speaking about finishing trilogies, I can’t miss Grave Importance. The second book was so good, and I can’t wait to see what would happen to Greta next! Then we have The Torch That Ignites The Stars, because I really love this series, and I’d love to be able to continue it! I really think this one deserves so much love!!! And then I really hope to get to Heir Of Shadows. This would be a re-read, technically, but since I have read it in 2014 and I don’t remember a lot, it would be good to go back to it before finally reaching the third one!

The Undertakers is a really overdue ARC, and I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet, because the first book was quite good and I really enjoyed it. So I really hope to read it soon! Then we have Beyond the Empire, I really loved the previous two books, so I need to read this one, obviously!! Then we have Falling Free, and technically I should be reading The Mountains of Mourning, but since I am planning to read all the books in this series well… I think I would just try and read both in a short time! And then there is a book that I coveted since it came out but that I didn’t manage to read, yet (bad bookworm here!): The Graduate.

I think it is really time to read The Defiant Heir. I enjoyed the first book but I was expecting more, so now it is finally time to see if I would be luckier with the second book (and usually once I know what I can expect from a book things tend to get better, so there is hope, a lot of it!), and then I hope to continue Jane Yellowrock series, and see if I should continue it or just drop it, because things start to get boring. And last but not least, Ancillary Sword. I need to continue this series!!!!!

And this is all for today! I really hope to manage to do good with the series this Summer, and to complete my TBR!

And what about you? What do you think of my choices? And do you have a Summer TBR?? Let me know!!!

Happy reading!
S.

Series seem to have become the narrative norm these days, making me wonder if stand-alone books are becoming a dying breed 😀 , still there is the attraction of coming back to a beloved story for more of the same… Congratulations on your summer plans (there are some truly amazing books there) and… happy reading!

I may have some thoughts on stand-alone at the moment, and they are not the best (but I am reading Dragon Mage at the moment and… I am quite mad at it, even if the book is not bad. And I am mad because the book should have been a trilogy and not a stand-alone for a lot of reasons, and if you can close an eye and try to be good because it is a stand-alone and you can be resonable about it, you can’t close the eye anymore because since the book was a success the author decided to make it a series. And I am mad. Sorry for the rant!) but yep, it seems like series are everywhere and that are conquering the world!!
      And thank you!!

Series are the bane and the bliss of my existence! I want to start so many of them! And then I want to continue a good chunk of them, but there is always a new shiny series calling for me. It is hard!!!
But at least so far I am having a great time with this “challenge” so there is that, too!!
