Happy Sunday everyone! Today I am really happy because this is my first Sunday off work since the beginning of May, and I am so excited about it! And I am also happy because the first week of June was a blast, reading-wise! I managed to finish some books, yay, and one of them was just so so so good. It was amazing! And one of the books I am reading is pretty amazing too, so… I am happy!

What am I reading?

In The Shadow of Lightning is a chunky book, so it would keep me company for a while, and I am only at the beginning but… I am loving it! I am loving it so much! The MC is the kind of character I love, even if I know that a whole world of hurt is waiting for us, it always is with his kind, but they are so worth it. And I am here for it. The prologue draws me in and now I can’t really get away from this story. It is this good! And I am reading The Builders. This is all Maddalena‘s fault, but I would explain in a moment. For now, let me just tell you that it is interesting!

What have I read?

The Hourglass Throne. OMG, this book. It was… it was all and everything. It was so much. So much fun. So much action. So much hurt. So much love. You get the gist, right? I hope to write a review for it, but I need to quiet the fangirl who starts cartwheel inside of me every time I think about this book because I loved it so much, but she won’t do for a coherent review. At all. Then I read one of the finalists for SPSFC, In The Orbit Of Sirens, so I should write a review for this one soon, too. But for now, I can say that this book has an amazing world-building. The author creates for us a lush and vivid world, with so many wonders! And then Literary Places. This book talks about some beautiful places in the World, choosing them from books that are set in these places. We get to see The Miserables’ Paris, for example, or Allende’s Chile and many other interesting and beautiful places. And now we are getting back at Maddalena’s fault. She wrote a review for A Drink Before We Die and I had to just go and see for myself how this short story was. And you know what? She was right! And I devoured it! And okay, it is a really short story, but I loved it. I loved the MC and now I need more. So the logical step would have been getting started with the Low Town series, but… there is a big but. I am trying to not buy new books in June because I am trying to do a bit of catch-up, but I had another book by this author waiting for its turn on my shelves, so this is why I am currently reading The Builders!

What Would I read?

I don’t know if this would be my next reading, because McClellan’s book is a chunky book, and Iron Truth is chunky too so I may need something a bit more slim and quick between these two, but since this is the last finalist I have to read for SPSFC, I know it would be one of my next reading for sure!

Blogging and Personal Life

I really hope to write some of the reviews that I should share with you all because they are growing in number, so I should really be writing them. And it seems like next week I should have some time to get started. I will keep my finger crossed! And in June I am not doing a TBR, but next week I would try to write a post with my reading goals, to see how I have managed so far, since we are halfway through the year, and I would try and read books based on those results. I know that I am doing pretty good with some of my goals, but not so great with others (and yes, I am especially talking about the series, but this is not the only one in which I am lagging behind!), so my reading this month would be oriented to catch up.

On a personal level, in May since I didn’t blog I had more time to myself, and I went back to video games. I really missed them, and I am really glad to have started gaming again. At the moment I am playing Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and I am having a great time with it! And I am also trying my hands at Bloodborne, mostly because it is one of my boyfriend’s favorite games ever, and I have conflicting emotions about this game. Really conflicting. But so far I am having fun!

And that’s all for today! How was your week? And you reading?? Let me know!!

Happy reading!

I’m hoping to read THE HANGED MAN soon, I just finished rereading THE LAST SUN! And Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is so much fun! I love playing as Evie. I’ve never played Bloodborne, but I’ve beaten Sekiro and I’m planning on trying Elden Ring later this month. I enjoy those styles of games a lot, even if they can be frustrating at times!
