Hello people! I hope you all are safe and happy, and that you are reading some amazing books! I went on an unplanned hiatus, even if I should have seen it coming. The main problem was that my in-laws came to visit for Easter and all my plans for the blog went astride. It is not that I don’t go along with my in-laws or such, but since they live quite far from us when they come to visit us they stay for some days. And it is just too much for me, especially if I have to work too. At work I constantly deal with people, and it is exhausting, both because people are people and because I am quite the unsociable person. So I had to deal with people both working and at home. And it was exhausting. And even once they are gone I need some time to go back to normal. But here I am again!
Today I would just share with you my reading, like a weekly wrap-up, and in the next few days, there would be more coming!
What am I reading?

Lately, I read not as much as I was hoping, and the thing annoys me because I was really hoping to have more time to read, but there is always something else that demands my attention, but at least it is nothing bad so I can’t complain too much. And at the moment I am reading A History of Torture because I am trying to read more non-fiction and so far I am not doing so well with this goal. Then I started An Illusion Of Thieves, and it is catching but I don’t know if I am really enjoying it or not. But it is also early to say! And then I have just started Resistance because this is the last book for the SPSFC I have to read for the actual phase. The problem is that, since it is a new thing, sometimes they change things to try and do better and they anticipated the end of this phase at the end of April, and I completely missed it, so now here I am. I think I would concentrate more on this one before going back to the other two!
What have I read?

I can’t believe it, but I have read The Brotherhood Of The Wheel and… wow! This book is brilliant! I loved it, and the idea is pure genius. The only problem is that the horror vibes are quite strong, and they don’t work for me, so I don’t think I would read the sequel, but all the same this was an amazing book, and I loved it! We have some amazing characters too, and action, and I had more than one “wow moment” while I was reading it. Then I have read No Gods Only Monsters, and I really enjoyed this one too. It is fast-paced and never boring. And then there is a book that I have read because I couldn’t resist the title: This Quest Is Bullshit! is an amazing title, and it is also an amazing book. It is a LitRPG and it was so much fun!
This time I won’t post about what’s next because I would keep them for my TBR in May since Wyrd and Wonder is almost here!! And I am so looking forward to it!
And that’s all for today! How was your week? And you reading?? Let me know!!
Happy reading!

I totally understand how you feel about dealing with people. I’m the same way, it’s so draining when I can’t have big breaks. And I’m glad you loved The Brotherhood of the Wheel!

I planned on reading non-fiction last year – I managed half a book and concluded that it just isn’t for me! No Gods Only Monsters looks really good – I’m going to read the blurb for that one.

I don’t dislike non-fiction, but I am quite peculiar with my choices, meaning that there is not really a field that interests me as a whole, I pick what I fancy in the moment, but I have to “force” me to start because fiction is more compelling!

That’s why we are booknerds! Because books don’t talk back to us or don’t talk at all! Much more peaceful than real people LOL

Holidays can be taxing indeed, particularly when one has to deal with relatives… (((SIGH)))
Still, I’m glad you enjoyed Brotherhood of the Wheel even though it was not exactly your cup of tea: I just love the idea of these modern… knights errant! 🙂
