Hello and happy Monday, everyone! I went on a mini unplanned hiatus, but here I am again! Nothing bad happened, I was just tired (I think I am getting old, argh!) and I had a series of long schedules at work so… yep, I couldn’t find the time to just sit with the computer. But I had an amazing time with books, and I am speaking both for the last days and the whole month of February. I didn’t do great with my goals, but I have read a lot of amazing books so all is good!
Books read: 18 + 1 DNF

The Amazing Ones

Seven Blades In Black has an amazing MC and her voice is quite unique. The world-building is interesting and I had an amazing time with it. Nophek Gloss has amazing world-building, and interesting characters. Both of these books are about revenge, and they go about it in their own ways. And then we have a complete surprise. Fresh Water For Flowers was a book I discovered because of a friend. She wrote to me to know if I have read it because she loved it and she wanted to talk about it to someone who didn’t enjoy it. And the rule here is that if she loves a book, I hate it. If I love a book, she hates it. I never heard of the book before so I checked it out and I was curious. So I promptly bought it, because all the books waiting on my TBR weren’t obviously, enough, and I loved it! I was mesmerized by it! It is a book to savour, with a bittersweet story that would really move you, and it is just so French, if this made sense. But it is a book that should really be read!
The Fabulous Ones!

Legends & Lattes was an amazing surprise. It is the coziest book ever, it is upbeat and something pretty unique, and I had a great time with it! Good Neighbors was as delightful as I was hoping, and I got to spend a great time with some interesting characters! Beach Read was more than what I was expecting, and I love a nice surprise! And, last but not least, Angel Killer. It is a bit over the top, but I devoured it! Now I am looking forward to the sequels!
The Really Good Ones!

The first one is an Italian satire on fantasy, and it was quite funny. Then we have The Hawthorne Legacy that was captivating. A lot! It is not a masterpiece, to be honest, but it is really hard to put down! Then we have two books that I can’t believe I have finally read! I wanted to read them for so long, and I had them in almost all the TBRs I wrote down and finally, finally, they are here! Sixteen Ways To Defend A Walled City was brilliant! And fun! While An Alchemy of Masques and Mirrors is a more slow and way less fun book, but with an amazingly rich plot, with twists and turns everywhere! And a really interesting world-building. And it is like steampunk musketeers with airships! And, last but not least, Why Odin Drinks? This book is funny but, overall, it is brilliant!!
The Good Ones!

To be honest, Technically, You Started It could go with the really good ones, but since the other books in there were a bit more complex I decided to put it in there, even if I am constantly changing my mind about it. Anyway… it is a really cute and sweet book, the right one if you want to take a break from more demanding books! Heartbreak Incorporated was quite hooking and I had a great time with it, and Misha, especially Misha! Fated Throne is the sixth book of this series, that was my guilty pleasure, but now I decided to drop it, because I am simply done with it. All the angst it is not my thing, not really and so here we are. But the book was hooking and we have some good characters development, we see them grow and change and it was pretty good!
The Disappointing Ones!

Dark Light Of Day was one of the first books I have added on my GR TBR, and the idea of it is pretty interesting. But it is a YA that try too much to not be a YA. The MC is 21 years old, and the author kept reminding us that this is not a YA because we don’t see boys and girls here, but men and women, and yet it is exactly like a YA. With some sex in it. It was irking. And then we have Master of One, that wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. In this case it is more a “It’s not you, it’s me” situation, because I was expecting more and this didn’t deliver, even if it is quite an okay book.

Well, I really could have done better with my series. I have started a good number of them, bad bookworm! But I didn’t do much progress… I’ll try to do better in March! I did good with the physical books, because I have read 3 of them, but I didn’t read non-fiction at all. On the other hand this month I have read 5 non fantasy books, so yay!

I have added Seven Blades in Black and An Alchemy of Masques and Mirrors this month, and I am so looking forward to put even more book in this Bingo!! And I did pretty well with The Sound Of Madness, too!

And what about you? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And how was your past month?? Let me know!!!
Happy reading!

I have Nophek Gloss on my TBR as well and I’m glad you loved it, it makes me even more excited to read it! 😀
Beach Read sounds very good as well, I’ve heard that it’s quite emotional.
Have a great month of March! 😀

WOW! To quote Bilbo as he addressed that hobbit lady with a plethora of kids: “My, have you been productive!” 😀

What a month of reading! I am envious! 😀 Glad to see you destroy it with some great reads. You definitely deserve all the hiatuses you need to recuperate! 😉
P.S. I also wanted to make a quick mention that I will be moving on to my own blog going forward (temporarily cross-posting content to warn readers on Bookidote) and that I’d love for us to remain connected over on my new blog (roarsandechoes.com). Don’t feel obligated to do so though! Stay safe!

It really was! And I was surprised too, I didn’t expected to read so many books in February! And they really were good!! (and this is the most important part!! 😉).
And thank you for mentioning it! Since I tend to live in a bubble of my creation, from time to time, I would have completely missed it for a long time!! 😅

That was a very busy month. I wish I’d been as productive. And, a reminder to me that I need to do a monthly wrap up and cross some of my bingo challenges off.

It really was busy, but in all the good ways!! 😊 And I find monthly wrap up to be really useful to keep track of challenges!! Or I risk to loose myself!
