Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are safe and happy! This week was surprisingly good! I had a good week at work and I managed to read a lot! And some pretty good books, so really no complaints here!
What am I reading?

The first one is an Italian book by a chemist and youtuber, and comedian, that I really love. He talks about science but he does so with humor and in a really really simple way (it is science for the dummiest of the dummies) and I adore it! And the other book, The Thirteenth Hour is an interesting fantasy/steampunk with a highly imaginative world-building and some intriguing characters! It is a bit more chunky than what I was expecting, but it just means it would keep me company a bit longer! No problems here!
What have I read?

This week I had the first DNF of the year, Litany of Dreams. Sadly it was not the right book for me. It is an amazing book if you are a fan of horror, but I wasn’t really hooked by it. I was hoping that since I love the author and I love Lovecraft maybe I would have been lucky with this one, but there is just something in horror full-length novels that is simply not for me. But then I was lucky with all the others! Never Fall For Your Fiancée is a funny and sweet book. I had a really good time with it, even if it is highly predictable. But the banter between the characters is pretty good! And then we have The Shadow Of The Gods. On one hand, I didn’t love it as much as I was hoping, because I wasn’t so invested in all the characters, but on the other hand, I have to say that this is quite the masterpiece all the same. It has a lot going on, and it is really a chunky book but I devoured it!

And speaking about chunky books, I went back to The Grace of Kings, which I had temporarily dropped last year. And this time I managed to read it to the end, yay! And even if this is not really my kind of book, I have to say that I can see why so many people adored it! It is a masterpiece in its universality and it is really well developed! Sadly I won’t continue the series, because really it is not the right kind of book for me, but it was good! Then we have The Warrior’s Apprentice, and I don’t really know why I have waited so much to continue this series. It was just so so good!! And last but not least, Shadow Rites, the 10th book in the Jane Yellowrock series. I think that the series should end soon, but I enjoyed it all the same!
What Would I read?

I am not 100% sure, because I can always change my mind since I have a bit to go before finishing the books I am reading at the moment, but Nophek Gloss sounds one the most likely candidate!
Blogging and Personal Life
On the blogging side this week I haven’t written a single review, so I hope to do better next week! I have some books that I want to share and discuss with you all, so I really hope to manage it! And maybe I would find the time to take stock and make some sort of order between all the series I have started, but I am not doing any promises here!!
On a personal level, it was a nice week. Nothing special, but quite relaxing and I had managed to visit my parents, so yay! We spent a nice day with them, and Ade was quite happy to see people with whom he can play! Also, we did a bit of nerd shopping, and we get 4 glasses, two mugs, and a set of tablecloths, all of them Star Wars themed! Sadly we didn’t have the time to open up the tablecloths yet, but they all are beautiful!

The tablecloths came in a really big box, it does not make sense!! But Ade was quite happy. He loves to destroy boxes!!!!
And that’s all for today! How was your week? And you reading?? Let me know!!
Happy reading!

I couldn’t finish Nophek Gloss, unfortunately. But lots of other bloggers loved it, I hope you do too. Those mugs are so cute! Have a great week, Susy😁

I’ve seen a couple good reviews for The Thirteenth Hour, it’s on my TBR! Glad you were able to finish The Grace of Kings, even if it isn’t for you. Enjoy your table cloths, they look fun!

Sadly I decided to drop The Tirtheenth Hour. It is an interesting book with a really fascinating worldbuilding but… I wasn’t hooked up as I was hoping. I hope you would enjoy it more!!
And thank you!!

Ah, you have taken up Miles’ journey once again! I’m glad you enjoyed Warrior Apprentice so much (not that I had any doubts…) and I can only say that I look forward to your review 🙂

I really need to write it because that book is so so much!! And up to the point in which the author just went and murdered one of the best (and most controversial) characters ever, it was so so funny!! I had a blast with it!

That loss was not only devastating for Miles, but for me as well: despite the fact that the character was quite far from “lovable”, it had grown on me – if nothing else for the unspoken loyalty and affection toward Miles – and I was sad to have to say goodbye. I hope you can go on again with your journey through this series and I can’t wait for you to reach my very favorite “Memory” 🙂

I had a DNF last week too. The Thirteenth Hour really caught my eye – I do love a good steampunk story.

I can’t say what went wrong with it, because the world building is fascinating and the characters are not bad but… It wasn’t right for me at the moment!
