BEST BOOKS OF 2021- PART 1

Hello everyone! I hope you all are safe and happy, and that this first month of 2022 is going well for you! Today I am finally here to show you the best books I have read in 2021 and I am quite excited by it! While I was writing this post I discovered that this year I have read only 2 graphic novels, and they were good yes, but not amazing so I won’t feature them here, but I may try to read a bit more of them in this new year. But, this aside, we can start!

Best Series Enders

I am both so happy and so sad to have finished these two series. Happy because, well, I have finished them, yay! But sad because they were just so good and the thought that I won’t meet all these amazing characters again is breaking my heart a bit. Snuff is the last in the City Watch subseries of Discworld, and it is my favorite one of all the subseries. Vimes and Vetinari are just the top. And I don’t have words to say how much this series means for me. And Tyrant’s Throne is the last book in The Greatcoats series. This series hurts so much, but it is also so good. And I think that it deserves way more love. We have some really amazing characters in a world that is ending, and yet we have hope in there, between all the pain and the desperation. It is gold!

Best Non-Fiction

I discovered this book thanks to r/fantasy Bingo and I loved almost all the essays in there. It is really an amazing book! And you can find my review of it here!

Best Thriller

This was the first book by this author I have ever read, but it won’t be the last because this was just so good! I have written a review for this one, too, and you can find it here!

Best Novella

This was by far the best short story I have read this year. I loved the series, and going back to it, even for a short bit was heavenly. Even more so because we get to see my favorite character!!!!

Best Romance

This was quite the surprise because the author takes the story to really interesting places, and I think that we need more books like this one! It was also funny and sweet, so this was a plus!

Blast From the Past

Blood Song was a re-reading, but I loved this book as much as the first time I have read it. Starless is a book by an author I love, Jacqueline Carey, and I loved it. It is quite a strange book, in some ways, but it is captivating and I enjoyed every moment I have spent with it. And then we have Blood Heir this is the first book in a new series by Ilona Andrews (who seems to have fun beginning new series without continuing any of them, argh!!!) but we get to see some characters that I love so… I enjoyed this book pretty much too!

I was thinking about writing only one post with the favorite of the last year but… but in the end, this would become a really long post, so I divided it into two parts again. I really hope to get back soon to share the other books with you all!
