Hello and happy Monday everyone! I hope your week has started in the best possible way, and I hope you are reading a lot of amazing books! Today I am pretty happy because Septemeber is almost here!! And since we are at the ending of August it is time for another recap! This month I read some really good books, but what is even better is that I managed to read quite a lot of physical books, so yay!
Books read: 18 + 1 DNF
Physical books Vs ebooks: 6 vs 12
ARCs: 1
The Amazing Ones!

To be honest I wanted to keep On The Shoulders of Titans for September and SPFM, but then I changed my mind and anticipated the reading a bit. And I am so glad to have done it! I loved it! It was captivating and intriguing, and I couldn’t put it down. To be completely honest I think that the first one was slightly better but… I loved this one all the same, and I cannot wait to read the next one! And then we have a re-reading. I read Blood Song a lot of years ago, and loved it. I have also read the sequel, but I never read the third and last book of this trilogy. But I let too much time pass, so I was in need of a re-reading before going on with the last book. And I loved this book even more this second time around. It was just too enthralling. And I loved every single moment spent with it!
The Really Really Good Ones!

I finally read Emerald Blaze by Ilona Andrews. I was happier with this series when it was about Nevada, but Catalina is a pretty good MC too, and I cannot complain too much. I enjoyed this reading quite a lot! Then we have The Two-Faced Queen, and I talked about this book the other day. I really really enjoyed it! And now I cannot wait for the third book. It was so so good! And then we have A Fistful of Rubies. This is a novella, and I have yet to start this series, but I have read, last year I think, another short novella from this series. And I am even more convinced to dive in the series! I think it would be a good pick for Septemeber!
The Really Good Ones!

Hold Me Closer Necromancer was another re-read. I started this series ages ago, but I never continued it, even if I really enjoyed the first book, so I decided to go back to it and then try again at continuing it. And this first book was enjoyable. Quite a lot! So now, obviously I have to read the sequels, and I hope to do pretty soon! How To Be A Movie Star was a funny and sweet read, and I enjoyed it a lot. I preferred the first book in this series, but I have no regrets here! Then we have an Italian non-fiction book, that I enjoyed a lot. It is about the climate changes, but I really love the way in which the author talk. He is a young scientist and he is a youtuber too, and I really enjoy its works! And then we have volume 2 and 3 of Zodiac Academy. It is not a perfect series, true, but it was addicting, and it was the perfect pop-corn reading!
The Good Ones!

Here we have an Italian graphic-novel, that I really enjoyed. It is about self-care, mental healt and a lot more. It is an indie graphic-novel, but I really hope it would get more visibility because it is pretty good! One More Bite it’s the fifth book in this UF, and it is not a bad one. It is not the best out there, and I was engrossed by the first couple of books, and then my interested started to wander away. But it is not bad and I enjoyed it. The Spirit Rebellion was an interesting second book. I don’t think that I will ever love this series, but I am enjoying it and it is funny and entertaining, so I will keep it going. And then we have A Terrible Fall Of Angels. L. K. Hamilton is a comfort read for me, so obviously I had to try her new series. And… well, it went well but not as well as I was hoping. It is not bad, and we have an interesting world-building, original and promising. And the writing is somehow hypnotic to me, but it wasn’t so amazing as I was hoping. But it was an enjoyable book, original and smooth.
The Okay Ones!

I have started this mystery series ages ago, but I never read it with any rhyme or reason, so I decided to go back to it with A Suitable Vengeance but… it wasn’t as good as I remembered it, so I think I would just let this series go. Chaos Choreography is the 5 book in the series, and it was a bit better than book 3 and 4, so for now I would keep reading it. Then there is Middlegame. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t my cup of tea. I was hoping to love it but… nope. It wasn’t really the book fault, it just wasn’t the right one for me. Sadly. And, last but not least, book 4 in the Zodiac Academy series. I devoured all the four books I have read so far, but this one was not the best in the bunch. It was compelling and full of action and things but I am not so happy with some of the author choices, so I will take a break from this series and see if taking some time would help me to enjoyi it again!
The DNF One!

I was expecting to enjoy this one quite a lot, because the premises were interesting but… Nope. I was bored by it, I waited for things to get better but no such luck for me!
My Reviews:
–The Two-Faced Queen by N. Martell
Series:
Finished: 1 + 1 last published volume
Continued: 6
On one hand this month it wasn’t great for the reviews but, since I was on an unplanned hiatus, this was to be expected. And I didn’t really was a good bookworm with my ARCs, because I have read only one of them, so not so good here, but on the other hand, I did great with the physical books and I did great with the series. I just hope to continue like this in the next months, too!
And what about you? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And how were your past months?? Let me know!!!
Happy reading!
S.
You had a great month, I’m always so impressed by how many books you can read. I loved Middlegame but I know other bloggers who didn’t like it either, so you’re right, it’s not for everyone. Hope September is great too!

I was really lucky, and I have a lot of time for reading when at work, I have to travel quite a lot (even if not for long distance) and a lot of waiting to do, sometimes, and so I can use the time to read! And Middlegame was an interesting book, but just not my cup of tea. But I am glad you loved it!!
