Mid Month Wrap-Up!

Hello everybody! I am finally back from my hiatus (and my vacation has ended, sigh!). So on one hand I am pretty happy to be back here (and slowly I would read all the amazing posts I have missed in the first half of July), on the other hand, I am not really so happy to be back to work but… oh well! We can’t have it all, can we?
So, even if I didn’t read a lot while I was away, I had some days at home before and after my trip, and I read a lot in that time-frame! And what is best is that I have read a lot of amazing books! So, since I am lazy and I am procrastinating the reviews, as always, I’ll go with a recap of my month so far!

What am I reading?

Both of those books are here because I am buddy-reading them, and so far I am loving them both. The Godstone is an original epic fantasy, and it kept me hooked up from the beginning. I am almost done with it, and I am really looking forward to go back to it, because I need to see what is happening. Anyway, I am loving it! And finally I am also reading The City of Brass. thanks to the read-along hosted by The Fantasy Hive. So this one would keep me company for a while, if I manage to keep up with the dates instead of keep on reading. I am not making promises here, but I would try! So far I am loving the world-building, and I want to see where the story would take us!

What have I read?

Those are the books that I have read so far, and they were all good! Solomon’s Seal was an amazing discovery, and I hope to talk about it more later on, because it was just so good! And then I continued the Guild Codex Series, with book 3 and 4: Two Witches and a Whiskey and Demon Magic and a Martini. Both of them were fast-paced and funny, and I had a great time with them. The Naturalist is the book that I loved the less between these ones, but to be honest I enjoyed it all the same and I think I would continue with the series, even if it is not perfect. And, last but not leas, Cast in Chaos, the sixth book in the Chronicles of Elantra series. I am really in love with this series, and going back to it is always a pleasure!

What Would I read?

I have another couple of buddy reads planned this month for ARCs that I am really excited to read but that are quite demanding, so I think I would keep up with my current mood and go with more lighthearted and fast books in between, and even if I know that I have a ton of series to continue that can easily fit the mood, I want to try this one out!

Blogging and Personal Life

We spent five amazing days in Sicily and I had a blast out of it! We visited some really beautiful places, we went to the beach a bit and we eat so much!!!! We spent some time with friends and family (my bf’s) too, and it was just so good. Tiring, but in the best kind of way! I really needed it. And Ade was happy at my parents house. So we didn’t have to be worried about the heat, he really suffers from it, and Sicily in Summer is not really the best place for him. But he had a great time at my parent’s house and I don’t really think that he was so happy to be back, now!

On the blogging side I have quite a bit going on. The next week I would take part in an event here, and I cannot say more at the moment, but it be all week long and I have some posts to prepare. The fact that I have not yet decided anything and that I am way behind with planning and writing them is just a minor detail, but I am pretty excited about it! I am sorry I can’t say more but stay tuned to know more about it soon!
And then I have another amazing news! I would be a judge as a part of a team for SPSFC this year! If you don’t know what it is and want to know more, just click on the name! But, in short, it is for sci-fi what SPFBO is for fantasy. This would be the first (of many editions, let’s hope!) year of it and I am really really excited for it!

So, I have quite a lot going on, and I have some reviews to write, as per usual, so I have some work to do! I hope you all had an amazing July so far!

And what about you? How was yourJuly? And what have you read?? Let me know!

Happy reading!
S.
