Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are safe and that your week was good! I can’t complain, my week was quite full of things to do, but I have read some pretty great books so all was good. Weather apart, because it is hot right now. And I am not really the biggest fan of hot weather. Warm sure, I love warm. I love moderation!!!! Anyway, since Summer is almost upon us I just have to resign myself and endure, sigh!
What am I reading?

I am so happy to have, finally, started Witness For The Dead, and I am also happy to say that it was as good as I was hoping. And it is good to be back in this world, with a character that is good and compassionate, he is not an hero, not in the strict sense anyway, and this is a very quiet book. And I am loving it! And then I have started the Italian edition of When We Were Vikings. I have just started this one, but I am intrigued!
What have I read?

The Hunting Of Tram Car 015 was good. So so good. It was funny, it was interesting and it has an amazing world-building. It is a short novella, but I hope to read the full-length novel by this author soon! Then we have a physical book, and I have to admit that it is strange for me to finish a physical book in just one week, so yay! Sure, usually my physical books are all quite chunky, and this was not, and since I read more often than not when I am not at home, it all makes sense, but still… I am happy for the achievement! Wicked Saints was interesting and well paced, I wasn’t bored while reading it, and the world-building was a nice reprieve to the hot weather (and okay, the world-building was interesting!). I haven’t yet decided if I would continue the series or not. I changed my mind a lot of times while I was reading, but now that I have finished it the jury is still out. I enjoyed the book, but I don’t know if I care enough to continue. The Helm of Midnight was a pretty unique book, and I enjoyed it a lot. I was hoping for something better characters wise, because I wasn’t really hooked up by any of them, but I enjoyed the story and the world-building a lot. And the characters weren’t bad, I was just hoping for more! And then we have Mr. Malcom’s List. This was a pretty silly book. Silly in a good sense, because it was a nice reprise from all the darkness of the previous book. It was funny and lighthearted and very fluid. It was not memorable, but it was a nice book.
What Would I read?

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but the second wasn’t as good as I was hoping. Mind me, it wasn’t bad, but it was sort of meh. So now I have to see if the third one would be better or if this series is losing its appeal for me. Also, after the quiet of Witness for the dead something a bit more lively could be the right choice!
Blogging and Personal Life
On a personal level my life is quite… boring. To be honest, it is not that I am bored, but I have not many things to tell. But last weekend we have a friend visit. We didn’t play any board games, sadly, but we went out for dinner on Sunday evening and it was just so good!
And if all goes as planned next weekend we would visit my parents. And I am quite looking forward to it, especially because where they live is cooler (the weather, that’s it)!
Anyway, this week I would have liked to watch a couple of episodes of something, but I wasn’t so lucky. But I have some ironing waiting for me, so I am quite sure that next week I would manage to go on with at least one of the series I am watching. It is something, right?
On the blogging side of things, I hope to write a review for The Watch tv shows, because I really loved it, and I want to share all the good things with you. I just hope to write something sensible and not just a long fangirling thing.
And I really hope to write the review for The Witness For the Dead. I am almost done with it, so I am feeling quite optimistic about it all!
And what about you? How was your week? And what have you read?? Let me know!
Happy reading!

My week was pretty slow. My daughter needs more attention these days and I can’t read or blog until she’s engaged in something.

Wow, you’ve read a lot! I read Wicked Saints but I didn’t like it enough to continue the series. I am hoping to read The Witness for the Dead, I’m glad you’re loving it. Hope you have a good week😁

Thank you! It really was a great week! And for Wicked Saints… I enjoyed it, but just so. But I am curious about the fate of one of the characters, and I don’t know if this would be enough to continue the series… I think I would wait a bit more and then see if I am still interested in it!

Glad you got to see some friends! I’m slowly starting to get together with my vaccinated friends, and its such a relief seeing people in person! Enjoy Sorrow’s Gate! I’m starting Catalyst Gate this week, really looking forward to it.

It really is! I was lucky because I worked through it all, so at least I got to see my coworkers and talk to people from time to time, but being able to see your friends and family is something else!
And I hope you would enjoy Catalyst Gate!!

I’ve seen so much complaining about The Watch before it came out, but not opinions since, would def. be curious to see your review of it

It was the same for me, so I just had to go and see for myself. I have to say that I am really really happy about my decision!!

Given what we all went through in the past year & change, I will take *boring* like the blessing that it is… 😉
