WEEKLY WRAP-UP! #5

Hello and happy Sunday everyone! I hope you had an amazing week, and that you have read some amazing books! This week I was in a strange mood, reading wise. I didn’t know what I wanted to read, and I had some hard time concentrating, but I think it was mainly due to tiredness, since it was a really busy week!

I am reading, and loving, THUD! by Terry Pratchett. It is one of the books in the City Watch sub-series, and I am in awe of it. And Vimes and Vetinari are two of my favorite characters ever, so I am always happy to have more time with them (and with all the other characters, really. Nobby Nobbs grows on you like mold, for example, and he is not the only one!) And then I have started Awfully Appetizing. I have just started it, so I cannot say a lot, but I hope it would be a good reading! I was quite undecided, because I didn’t know what I wanted to read, and this is a really awful feeling, by the way!!! So let’s hope this would be the right chose!

What Have I read?ย

To Be Taught If Fortunate was a strange reading. But I think that most of the fault was mine. I mean, it is an amazing short books, and the human element in there is something spectacular, but I had not always an easy time with it. I started it and I was in love, then my interest disappeared for a while, and I have paused it, because it was not its fault, but I wasn’t in the right mood for it. But then I went back to it and things get better quickly. And I enjoyed it, even if in some parts my interest wavered. Since short stories seemed a good choice, I tried my hand at Memento, since I have featured it in the last Blame It On The Community post, and I was dying to read it. And you know what? I loved it! Pox was an interesting reading, but it could have been a tad better. It is quite repetitive in some parts.

This week I have also finished my February TBR, and I am really happy about it. Tripping on a Halo was a fun reading, that took some unexpected turns. I really enjoyed this one! The Raven King was too dark for my tastes, but the characters are quite fascinating. I don’t know if I want to continue this series or not, but I am thinking about it. And then we have Stocking And Spells, this is the fourth book of The Vampire Knitting Club, and it was a tad disappointing. It was a cozy and enjoyable reading, but I preferred the first three books. In this one the MC became a bit too obsessed with her ideas about the culprit, and it was a bit… irritating. But it was not a bad book, and I am looking forward to the others.

What Would I Read?

I don’t know. I think I would let my mood guides me when the moment came.

Blogging and Personal Lifeย

We would “soon” change home, and I am really looking forward to it, but after some quite months, because we had to wait for some bureaucracy and with COVID it all requires more time (and bureaucracy is not fast at the best of time, sigh!), now it is time again to do things! We have to find the furniture, we have to sing paper, we have to show our current home to people who may want to rent it, so there is a lot going on! And then we have some appointments for Ade too, and work. It was a bit overwhelming at times. And next week would be slightly better, so there is hope, but it would be quite full anyway. The good thing is that, at least, I am really really busy, but it is for some good reasons and not bad ones.

On the blogging side, it seems like I am not really back to my usual self. I am not back in the mood for reviews, and I am still waiting to write a post about the things that I have watched or that I want to watch… maybe next week would be the right time for it!!

And what about you? How was your week? And what have you read?? Let me know!

Happy reading!
S.

I go through moods all the time where I don’t feel like reading or blogging. But eventually I get back in the groove. I just stopped reading a book I wasn’t enjoying (but I do plan to go back and finish it) and started another book that’s so much better! I’m so glad I did that because I’m much happier now. Good luck with your busy schedule this week!

I definitely have a mood thing going on at the moment and I recognise that sometimes a book isn’t working for me but it’s probably down to that mood thing rather than the book – so I do have some books set aside to retry later. They still might not quite work out but we’ll see.

Sometimes we have to concede to the mood! And sometimes I do like you, but I do it when I think that, in another mood, I would love or really really enjoy it, if I think that my mood is wrong for it but that even in the right mood I would finish the book and find it enjoyable but not exceptional, I let it go. I don’t know if this make sense!!

With so much going on in your personal life (and bureaucracy alone would drive anyone up the walls….) it’s not surprising that your reading and blogging moods might be slightly off, but all you have to do is wait for quieter times and it will all go back to normal ๐Ÿ™‚
