Hello people! I hope you are doing great! Today I am here with a book tag! Jess @Jessticulates tagged me and so here we are! The tag was created by Nicole and Her Books and now that I gave all the credits where they were due, let’s start!
A popular book EVERYONE loves that you have no interest in reading?

It seems like everybody loved this one! I have read so many interesting things and review about it, and yet… yet I don’t think I would ever read it. It doesn’t really seem like the right one for me. Sadly!
A classic book (or author) you don’t have any interest in reading?

I received a copy of this book a lifetime ago. It was a Christmas present. And I have started it so many time! But I didn’t get over the first 50 pages (in the best of cases) so… yep, this one. I have abandoned all hope to ever read it!
An author whose books you have no interest in reading?

I know I am putting my life on the stake saying so but… Martin. I have tried but… nope. And I know I am cheating a bit here, because I have read something by him before, but I tried to think about authors I haven’t tried but that I don’t want to read, and I came out empty!
A problematic author whose books you have no interest in reading?
Hmm… I am not an expert in problematic authors and the ones I know of are the ones I have also read (and the first on the list would be Tolstoy. And I know I am one of the few to consider him problematic but… don’t get me started on him!!!!!) so I would copy Jess answer here, and go with Orson Scott Card. I haven’t read anything by him, and so far I am not planning to.
An author you have read a couple of books from and have decided their books are not for you?

I think that Maas is a marvelous storyteller, but she really doesn’t know what to do with her characters. And the worst thing is that her characters are good! But… nope, just nope. On one hand I really enjoyed the books I have read by her (I think I have read 4 or 5) but on the other, they made me so mad!!! And I had to say no more, because they were just too maddening for my peace of mind.
A genre you have no interest in OR a genre you tried to get into and couldn’t?
Horror. I tried. A lot. But it is not for me. I enjoy horror short stories (Lovecraft, Poe and Le Fanu are some favorites of mine) but the novels? Nope. They bore me so much! And I have tried! I have tried some books that were just so promising, with brilliant plot and twists and yet… all I felt from them was boredom.
A book you have bought but will never read? (this can be a book you have unhauled/returned to the library unread)
Sorry but for this one I haven’t an answer!!!!
A series you have no interest in reading OR a series you started and have dnf’d?

I wrote an entire post about this topic, here, but it seems like I let out a series, so here we are! I loved the first book, but this second… nope! I was just soooo bored! And so I have to say goodbye to this one, too!
A new release you have no interest in reading?

The cover is a piece of art, but I think I am growing tired of this kind of books. And so I think I would let this one pass, even if I am a bit curious about it!
This was all for today, I hope you enjoyed this tag! If you want to try your hand at this tag please do! Consider yourselves tagged!
Happy reading!

Oh this sounds like a very fun tag! I don’t have the time to do it this month but I think I will do it in January. 😀
The Ten Thousand Doors of January is one of my favorite reads of 2020 so I was sad to see it on the list but I understand why it wouldn’t appeal to everyone. It’s a very slow book with flowery writing, I loved it but I’m sure a lot of people would think that it doesn’t sound that interesting. 🤣🤣

I am curious to see what your choices would be!!
And I have read amazing things about that book, really, and flowery writing could be a hit or miss for me, but… I don’t know, there is something that I cannot pinpoint but that makes me think that this wouldn’t be the right book for me, sadly!!

I absolutely agree with you on Moby Dick and George R R Martin!

You’re not alone, Susy, I have no real interest in reading George R. R. Martin’s work either! I might give the Game of Thrones books a try one day, but I have no plans to give that series a go until it’s finished.

I have tried out a couple of books, and I have also tried the TV show but… Nope, not for me!

I do love Ender’s Game… I think it was very important and influential novel, totally apart from Card’s later views and opinions. It’s a fun tag, though! 😀

I haven’t read that book, but to be 100% honest, I can’t say that I would never read it. But I know it won’t be soon, so for now I can use it for the answer in there!

This tag is so much fun! I’m also not at all drawn to Moby Dick and will never be picking up another SJM book.

Great tag! I agree with your classics pick, although there’s honestly not a ton of classics that I’m interested in haha.
