Review: Three Mages and A Margarita or a really fun book to binge-read!

Hello everyone! How are you? And how are your reading going? I am really satisfied with my mood reading so far, and today I am here with a review for a book that I loved! It was a really good find, and I am so happy to be here sharing it with you all!

Title: Three Mages And A Maragarita
Series: The Guild Codex. Spellbound #1
Author: Annette Marie
Page Count: 312

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig.
It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview—to see if I’d mesh with their “special” clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an ***hole right back. That’s the definition of fitting in, right?
I expected to get thrown out on my ***. Instead, they… offered me the job?
It turns out this place isn’t a bar. It’s a guild. And the three cocky guys I drenched with a margarita during my trial? Yeah, they were mages. Either I’m exactly the kind of takes-no-*** bartender this guild needs, or there’s a good reason no one else wants to work here.
So what’s a broke girl to do? Take the job, of course—with a pay raise.

I have decided to mood read December away, and since I was in need of something fun and that I could binge-read, I decided to try out this one. I am seeing the name of this author popping out everywhere lately, and I am a really curious bookworm. I have read another book by her, and I enjoyed it, but it was YA and I wasn’t really in the right mood, so I decided to try her adult titles and see how it goes. And you know what? I was just so lucky!

This book was exactly what I was hoping for! It was fun, interesting, with good characters (and some of them are just soooo swoon worth!!), banter and action. It was pure bliss and I binge-read my way through it.
Tori, our MC, has a temper, that’s for sure. But she won’t go down without a fight. And the first scene was just majestic. Tori vindicated all the waitress ever! And I cheered her up to no end! She is a self-confident woman, who has not the best of luck (and yep, her temper is not really helping her out!) but who is determined to don’t take crap from anyone, life included. I loved her!
Also, she is quite the unusual heroine, since she discover that our world is full of magic, even if people don’t know that and things aren’t going to change, but she has no magic herself. Not even a drop. And this was quite original. I am eager to see what the author would do with her in the next books.
And with her we have some other interesting characters. And yes, I am a very shallow girl and I am talking about the marvelous three! Aaron, Kai and Ezra are just amazing. And swoon worthy. And they are fun, too. You just have to meet these three for yourself, trust me on that!
There are other characters, obviously. Tabitha, who I despised so much! She is just so annoying, really! Clara and Darius, who are quite sweet in their own way, and Justin, Tori’s brother. I think that we would see more of him around in the next books, and I am really curious to see how things would evolve.

And the plot is a very well balanced mix of action and banter with quite scenes. We get to see Tori while she works as a bartender, and not only her knee-deep in a situation or another, and I really appreciated it. It was an engaging reading,
And I appreciated the world-building too. Sure, it is an urbanfantasy so we don’t get anything too elaborate, but we have a magical population who is divided in different class (we have psychics, mages, alchemist and others), and we have also magical creatures, like vampire (even if we don’t see them in there, at least in this first book), and we have the guilds, which are organization for the magical people. I appreciated this system, and I really hope to see more on the sequels!

So, if you are in for something fun, fast, that would keep your interest alive, and with a touch of romance and some really good flirts going around, this would be the right reading for you! And sure, I didn’t really need to start a new series right now, but… who cares???

And what about you? Have you read this book? Or others by this author? Let me know!!!

Happy reading!
