Hello everyone and happy Sunday! I hope your week was full of good things! I had a good week, mainly because I love Autumn, and it has finally arrived! The only thing that I really miss of the Summer is that the days were soooo long, and it feels like you can do anything. Not so much when it kept getting dark sooner and sooner but… oh well!
What I am reading?
This week I have read quite a lot, but I have read not at home and so Senlin Ascends is still here. And it is my fault too, because I am not hooked up to this book as I was hoping, it is not really my kind of book so I would finish it, because I want to see all the things the author creates here, and I want to know how the story would end, but I am not in a hurry to pick up the book every time I come home. And then I am reading Heroes at Risk. Next week I presented this book as my planned reading, and here I am. But before starting it I read some other books, because my attention is a fleeting thing and I was easily distracted. But I am not sorry at all, because I read some great books!
What I have read?
Two of these books were totally unplanned reading, but sometimes the unplanned ones are the best ones! And then there is Fates of Ruin, this one is an ARC I received and it was on my Summer TBR, so not as unplanned as the other. And it was, sadly, a meh reading. It wasn’t really bad, but it wasn’t so good either. And I won’t continue this series. But the other two books? Well, this is a whole other story! The Forest God was amazing! I loved it. And I was mesmerized by it. I couldn’t put it down, it was just so so good! And I have Olga to thanks, because on my own I would have never chosen this book (or short short novella, to be precise). Cast In Fury is the fourth book of a series I started this year (and it amazes me that I have started it this year and I have read four books from it. Wow!) and it was as good as the previous ones, at least. I loved it. I was captivated by it, fully absorbed by the reading, and I think it is also a really topical, because the fear for what is different here is the main point for the plot, and I think that the author did a great job with it. I loved this book!
What would I read?
I try again with this one! I don’t think I would finish Senlin Ascends before the ending of September, so I don’t really know when it would come the time for this book, but I hope to get things done with The Sword of Kaigen too. Let’s keep our finger crossed!
Blogging and Real Life!
This week was a busy one, so I haven’t posted and blog hopped as much as I wanted, but at least I posted two reviews, yay! And both of them are for self-published books. Self-Pub Fantasy Month is almost finished, but it was great! I have read great books, and I have read some interesting reviews and posts and interviews! It was really great to take part in it!
I don’t know if I would manage to write another review for a self-pub book, but I have a review brewing, because I have to talk to you all about The Forest God. Be warned!
On a personal note, I am way behind with the house chores, as per usual (I think my inner housewife is not channeling properly!!) and I would spent today and tomorrow trying to catch up with them. And then my mother would come to visit (hence the run to catch up with the house chores, argh!). I am glad that she would come, so we could relax together for a day or two, but I won’t have time to read or to blog, sadly!
Ade, my adorable puppy, is growing, even if he slowed it down (yay!) and it is as adorable as ever. But he is can be capricious sometimes!
He is not allowed on the sofa (we’d love to have him there, to be honest, but the sofa is not big enough), but I was changing the sofa cover and he just had to try it to see if it was comfortable enough. And in the other picture he was telling me that he wanted to play, not to go home. He is tireless. sadly you cannot say the same thing about me!!!!!
So, that’s all for this week! How was your week? What have you read? Let me know!
