WEEKLY WRAP-UP! #21

Hello and happy Sunday to everyone! I know that I have posted something similar just a couple of days ago, but this week was full of headaches, sadly, and I am struggling to find the time to blogging yet. Coming back from vacation sucks, and adulting sucks even more. And this is a period full of adulting… poor, poor me! But I had some time to read, between a headache and another, so at least I can say something in there, and who knows? Maybe the next week I would be able to finally come back with more reviews and other kinds of posts!

What I am reading?

With The White Road, I am going slow because it is a physical book and so I read it when I am at home, and lately, I am doing much of my reading not at home. But so far so good, I am happy to be back with Alec and Seregil, and I really hope the author would be good, with them and with us both. And I have started Knight Watch, too. I haven’t read a lot from this one, because I have just started it, but it seems interesting and the beginning was promising. And I am reading two books from my TBR, and this makes me happy! I won’t finish that monster of TBR before the ending of August, and I have plans for September so we’ll see how it would end, but at least I am not feeling too much guilt!

What I have read?

I have finished and loved The Unkindest Tide by Seanan McGuire, and I am really looking forward to the sequel, that is waiting for me on my e-reader. And this book was about one of my favorite characters ever so it was amazing! And then I have read Il destino dell’orso. It is an Italian mystery, and I enjoyed it a lot! This is the second in a series, and I really love these characters and the writing. I was so enthralled by it and I simply couldn’t put it down!

What would I read?

Since I am doing good with my TBR it is probable that my next reading would come from there, too, or at least I really hope! And one of the favorites of the moment seems to be Angelbound. Maxon but I am not making promises here, so we shall see!

Blogging and Real Life!

September is almost here, and this means Self-Published Fantasy Month! How could I resist?!?! These past years I have followed it on the sidelines because it was a busy period outside the blog, but this year I can do it and I am so looking forward to it! I am working on my TBR because there are so many good books I want to read, and they organized an amazing read-a-long too! I cannot wait!
Would you participate too?? Let me know!

Next week would be stressful because of work, I am not so happy with my schedule and I am so not looking forward to going to work, but oh well! I will survive. And I hope I would find the time to be back here. Let’s cross our fingers!

And what about you? How was your week?? Let me know!

Happy reading!
S.

I’m sorry your work is so stressful, I hope it gets better soon. I’m having trouble with my August TBR too. This might be the worst month I’ve had in terms of getting through my monthly pile😬 Oh well, on to September!

The next week would be tiresome but then I expect some breathing time!! I’ll keep my finger crossed! 🤞And I overdid with my TBR, so that was expected, to be honest I am surprised that I am keeping it going! But we would do better in September!!!

    Hallo, Hallo Susy!

Yes, I’m participating this year for Self Published Fantasy Month! In truth, I don’t believe I knew about it or I had forgotten about it – as I’ve been consumed with both the tides of life and co-hosting #WyrdAndWonder for the past three years. This year, when I spied it on book Twitter I knew I wanted to join it!! (big smiles) I recently pulled together the Self Pub Fantasy reads I haven’t had teh pleasure of reading til now (off my backlogue) whilst I also found some Indie Authors of Fantasy I haven’t had the chance to read/finish during the Wyrd And Wonder years. I’m looking forward to settling into those plots and worlds whilst lifting the Self Pub Fantasy authors in the process!

I love supporting Indie Authors & Publishing which is why I have focused a lot of my own showcases for Wyrd And Wonder on the Indie side of Fantasy. September is my renewal of Fantasy wherein I’ll be knitting together my final posts I couldn’t share in May (wrecked my migraines) whilst I’ll be moving forward with Self Pub Fantasy Month and also by extension reading more Indies as well. Similar to how I concentrated on INSPY Reads this August, I’m focusing on Indie / Self Pub Fantasy in September.. along with reading #JaneEyre!

I am curious to see what you would read for Self Published Fantasy Month, and I am glad you are taking part in it this year! I can only imagine how demanding would be hosting Wyrd and Wonder, because you girls are doing an amazing job with it! It is always so fun and so interesting to participate and I always wait for it with trepidation! *_*

And migraines are the worst! I always fear the change of season, because it would bring them back to me, and even if I love Spring and Autumn with all my heart, they are just the worst for the migraines, sigh! I hope you are feeling better now! And I hope you would enjoy all your reading!!!!

It seems to be the month for headaches. My daughter has had several that have had her laid up in bed for a couple of days. She is 15, so at an important time of school, and it sucks that she is missing so much of it. I’ve been very lucky, mine haven’t been as bad as usual. I’m very grateful.

Yay for self-published fantasy month. I love shouting about my favourite books. I have no idea what i’ll be reading, but I at least have a post planned each week. Hopefully I’ll get a couple of reviews written up in time as well.

I hope your week is a good one xx

Oh no, hope things improve (I feel like I’ve been saying that like a broken record all year)
I’ve been on the fence about Self-Pub month cause my reading has been so weird this year, but I do have a LOT of self-pub books on my kindle, I should try to get at least to some of them.

The return to “reality” from a vacation can be quite jarring indeed and particularly now when the day-to-day business is compounded by the stressful circumstances that are plaguing the whole world… In cases like this it’s good to remember the “Galaxy Quest” motto: Never give up! Never Surrender! 😉
