May Wrap Up!

I can’t believe that we have reached the end of May, but here we are! And I know that I should have started with “Hello people” and that was rude of me, but… How can we be at the end of May????
This month flew by for me, and it was a really happy one! It was demanding, yes, but it was also amazing! After three months I visited my parents, yay! And now I have a puppy, too… so it was amazing!
But… yep, there is a but. May was Wyrd and Wonder month, and I really had hoped to be more active because I love this event with all my heart, and I wanted to read more, but I didn’t manage it. So, there is that. But I was lucky anyway because I have made some great reading, and I really mean great, and I have also read a ton of interesting posts by the other participants to this event. My TBR grew a lot but… who cares!

Books read: 8
Physical books Vs ebooks: 3 vs 5
ARCs: 4

This month I don’t have any DNF book, yay! And yes, I read way less than my usual, but they were all so good!

The Amazing!

To have three books on the Amazing part of this post is somehow unique, but fantastic! To be completely honest, Foundryside is a little step behind the other two, but it was a minimal thing, because I loved it quite a lot, and so I have decided to put it in there too. I really loved the worldbuilding and the characters! But Saint’s Blood and The Goblin Emperor both take my heart with them. They are quite the opposite, but I loved them with a passion. And if you haven’t read them yet, what are you waiting for?????

The very good!

A Shattering of Glass was the only book that wasn’t on my TBR for this month, it was a choice of the moment, but I am really glad to have read it! Now I have even more questions than before but I enjoyed the adventure! The Consuming Fire was amazing and even better than what I was expecting! And so much fun! And then I have read Cast in Courtlight. I think I am in love with this series, too, and I am looking forward to the sequels!

The Good!

Duckett & Dyer. Dicks for Hire was a weird and fun reading, while Cadaver & Queen was entertaining. I don’t know yet if I would continue the series, but I enjoyed the reading, and it has some interesting elements in it!

Series:
Finished: 1 last published volume
Continued: 3

The Great Series Project:

This month I haven’t read as much as I was hoping, but I can’t really complain because they all were amazing reading and I managed to read at least the last volume published of one of the series I am following and to continue three other series. So that was great! I am doing quite good with this project, if I can say so myself, and I would love to do more, but since I don’t know how June would be, reading wise, I would just try and read some of the titles that are on the list, but without a real goal.

My Reviews!
Swashbuckling Cats
The Consuming Fire
by J. Scalzi
Foundryside by R.J. Bennett
Duckett & Dyer Dicks for Hire by G.M. Nair

This month the blog went on an unplanned hiatus, due to the puppy arrival (I planned for it, but we planned to get him near the end of the month, not the beginning and so… hiatus!) but I managed to watch both season of After Life and I loved this series! It is just so real, and captivating, and full of feelings. Usually this is not my cup of tea, but I loved it and I just have to recommend it everywhere!

And I have started a k-drama too. I am so, so, so happy! I don’t know how much time it would take me to finish it, because they really have long episodes, and I lately don’t have so much time, but I love them and I was missing them, so yay!!!!!!

And what about you? How was your May? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And what have you planned for June?? Let me know!!!

Happy reading!
S.

Thank you! And I understand you perfectly! I had to wait for my boyfriend to come and live with me before even thinking about it, because on my own it was impossible!

      And he is called Ade!

Have a great month you, too! ❤️
