Hello everyone and happy Sunday! How are you? And how was your week? Mine was a really relaxing one, and I had time to do a lot of reading!
What I am reading?
At the moment I am reading A Man’s Head by Georges Simenon because I was in need of something not fantasy and this author is always a good choice. So far I am enjoying myself, and visiting Paris is always a nice thing. And then I received Swashbuckling Cats and I just had to start it right away. I mean pirate cats (or is it cat pirates?!), how cool is that?!?!?! And have you seen the cover? It is a piece of art!!!
What I have read?
This week was uneventful, but this gave me the time to read a lot of books! I have to admit that I didn’t love them all, but they weren’t bad, at least! The Dirt on Ninth Grave left me with a bag of mixed feelings, and I have some thinking to do. Murder at the Kinnen Hotel was another short story from The Powder Mage series, and I loved it! A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder was fast reading, and even if I enjoyed myself it wasn’t original or so captivating as I was expecting. The Wheel of Osheim take me quite a lot of time to finish, and I liked it but… every time I put it down I didn’t want to start reading it again. But it is a good book!
I loved Silence Fallen and I had a great time with it (even more so because it made me go back to Prague!!!). Hostile Takeover was an interesting reading that kept me glued to the pages, while Tamed and Scorched were disappointing. I have DNFed Scorched because it wasn’t for me. I read half of it and I was bored, not interested in the story at all, and so… I dropped it. I have finished Tamed, instead, but… I am not so in love with it. It was a fast reading, and it wasn’t really boring, but it didn’t leave me anything.
What would I read?
I think that my next reading would be the Italian edition of Cadaver & Queen. I don’t know what to expect from this one but I hope it would be good!
Blogging and Real Life!
This week was quite uneventful. I did online classes for two days, because we have some mandatory class days for work, and since the lockdown, they are trying the online thing. But aside from that, I didn’t work this week, so it was quiet and relaxing. And as you have seen, I have read quite a lot. And that was good for my series project, so no complaints here!
But I am really really excited because finally, I can share something fantastic with you all! It was a project, but since the lockdown things are going slow and are more complicated, so I have wanted to be really sure before sharing this good news with you but… I am going to bring home a puppy!!!!!
I love dogs (and cats, too!) but before I was living alone, and with my working schedule it is impossible to take care of any pets, sadly. But then my bf and I started living together, and with two of us suddenly having a dog was a real possibility! (He loves dogs, too. I am not imposing over him!). So we started to read up and looking for information, we planned and finally, we decided that we could do it! Yay! And then lockdown came.
But now it is sure, so we would have a marvelous, adorable puppy with us! We have to wait some more, but it is real!!!!! And I am so happy to share that with you all guys!!!!
On the blogging side, April is almost over, and May would be Wyrd and Wonder month! Aren’t you excited???? I have planned a TBR and some other fantasy posts that I am looking forward to sharing with you all!
That’s all for my week! How was yours? Have you done some great reading? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And how is going your life?? And would you take part in Wyrd and Wonder??? Let me know!
Happy reading!
S.
Congrats on getting a dog! That’s awesome 🙂 I don’t even know what we did before we got our dogs, they are the best 🙂
I teach online on the same schedule as I’d teach in person, so my days are quite busy. But it’s so nice to keep in touch with my students.
Have a wonderful week ahead, stay safe and healthy 🙂

Yay, puppy!
Also I am really looking forward to your thoughts on the cat themed anthology, I’ll admit I was really excited for that.
