Hello everyone and happy Monday!!! How are you? I hope that you and your family are safe, and I hope that this long lockdown is not so horrible!
I wrote this post and it was ready to go online Sunday, as always but then… I didn’t plan it and completely forget about it… Argh! So here we are, on Monday!
This was another quiet week, but I am not really complaining. There is only a minor thing bugging me these days, and it is that at work every person I met wants to chat, and I mean every single one, argh! I am not a very sociable person, and I am the worst with the chit-chat with unknown people! It’s ok to chat with coworkers, because I know them, usually, and when not you can always speak about work-related things, but the ones that just are passing? Nope! But since this social distancing has begun it is harder to just chat in a casual way, because you can’t meet anyone and so… lucky me, all try to chat with me! But minor complaints aside, let’s start this recap!
What I am reading?
At the moment I am reading The Wheel of Osheim, and I am enjoying it quite a lot, even if I am a bit torn about this one. It is good, and I am enjoying it, but I can’t stop comparing this to the previous series, and it is, in some ways, lacking, even if there are a ton of good things in there, and they are quite different books. So I know that I should stop but… I can’t. And the fact that we met Jorg in here complicates things. Anyway, this would be a slow reading for me, so I have all the time to change my mind! And then I am reading Hostile Takeover. I am really enjoying this one, and I think I would finish it today. But it is good!!!!
But I am glad to say that these two are the last titles on my April TBR! Isn’t it fantastic??
What I have read?
Skullsworn was a surprising read. It is an amazing book, with great writing, interesting characters and good world-building. And I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it so much. I don’t know if I would read the series, this is a sort of standalone prequel, but this is a book that I recommend to everyone who wants to read something grim, original and intriguing, with great writing! True Crime Japan was another unplanned reading, and it was an interesting one. I wasn’t expecting to find so many things about Japanese culture in there! It was highly informative. Her Majesty’s Necromancer was an enjoyable book, even if I didn’t love it. It wasn’t bad, and was the right book to just take a break, but it is nothing special, sadly. And then there is another unplanned reading. Snowspelled. I have heard some interesting things about this one, and since I could use it for quite a lot of the squares in the Bingo… well, why not? And it was on Scribd, so I finished the trial month with this highly enjoyable reading!
What would I read?
Sadly, I have not idea what to read next. I have finished my TBR, sort of, and so I would see when the mood strikes!
Blogging and Real Life!
Aside from my complaints about the people who want to chat, I am glad to go to work. The schedule is quite crazy and we know the schedule from day to day. It is a bit annoying, but since I don’t have a lot of things to do, and place to be (sadly), it is not so bad. And at least I get the chance to enjoy this springtime!
This week was good, all things considered, because work was enjoyable, and I even started again with yoga (I really needed it!), now I just have to keep it up!
I have also finished my marathon of The Big Bang Theory, yay! It was just so sweet! And I have also finished the second season of Altered Carbon. To be honest, I was thinking about dropping it because… boooooring! But my bf wanted to finish it and he watched it while I was around, so I finished it, too. The last three episodes weren’t so bad. But they weren’t good, either! And I went back to anime. I enjoy watching them, but usually, I can’t find the time. But this week I have started Death Parade and, so far, I am enjoying it!
On the blogging side, the next week I would post my second blog tour, and it is about a book that I enjoyed and that is original and with good premises. So, stay tuned!
That’s all for my week! How was yours? Have you done some great reading? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And how is going your life?? Let me know!
Happy reading!

Forced isolation is clearly compelling people to break the silence in any way they can, although I have to admit that casual conversation with strangers is becoming more difficult because we tend to look at other people with suspicion… This situation has made us all a little paranoid!
I’m glad you enjoyed Snowspelled: the whole series is a delightful read, so I hope you will get the chance to take a look at the other stories as well. 🙂

Yes, it is a strange thing, because on one hand the people are feeling lonely and want to talk, on the other we all are suspicious of the people around. The peculiar thing is that I discovered that people try to talk to me more when I am not wearing a mask, and rationally this makes no sense, even if emotionally is understandable.
And Snowspelled was very cute! I hope to read soon the other books in the series!

I know what you mean about the chatting! I work in sales and customer service and people just seem to want to talk and talk and talk these days and I’m not into it lol.
