Hello wonderful people! How are you? And how are your reading going? I really hope that you all are safe, and I really hope that April would be a better, and shorter, month because March was… unique!
But let’s not waste time, and let’s get this recap going!
What I am reading?
I think that these two were the ones I was most excited about, from the books on my TBR and I am so glad to have started them both! I can say that La Meravigliosa Vita dei Filosofi is the cutest book ever! And I am in love with it! And it is interesting, too. And I haven’t read a lot from Scalzi book, but I think I am in love with it! It is almost like a Pratchett book, at least so far… and wow!
What I have read?
Well, five books seem quite a lot, but here I am cheating a bit! Night Watch and Under Ordshaw were expected because I was reading them last week. Terry Pratchett’s book was amazing, as expected, and I loved it so much! And I enjoyed Phil Williams’ book, too. Sure, he is not Pratchett, but the book was good (and toward the end of the month you would know more about it!). Swarm and Steel was, sadly, a DNF. I think that this book is bright and original. The author is a genius, but he is a genius in a sort of creepy and sick way, and it wasn’t for me, sadly. But the worldbuilding is, as far as I have read, top-notch. So if you are in for something really grim and disgusting, well, this can be the right book for you! But, sadly, I wasn’t really into it. And then there is Forsworn. This is a short novella, and I am very thankful for it since the author released it for free for the covid. I can’t really buy new books at the moment, and I need to make the time pass at work. This week was quite slow, and I was in need of something short to read between lulls, and I was so grateful for this one! Also, I loved it! And then there is The Demons We See. On one hand, I have just posted my TBR, and I have deviated from it. This doesn’t really bode well for the rest of the month. On the other hand, it was a book recommended to me on Scribd, and I just read an amazing review for it. And I can use it for the Bingo. And the most important thing: I enjoyed it a lot! It was fun and entertaining and I have no regrets!
What would I read?
I am not making promises, here, as per usual, but I think that these two would be my next choices. I am curious about them both, and they are straight from my TBR, so I am being a good bookworm, right?!
Blogging and Real Life!
This was a week with a lot of calls in it. I had a sort of phone-conference with my boyfriend’s family because one of his cousins was getting married in Russia. Obviously, there is the lockdown everywhere, so we celebrated with them (and the new bride’s family) through the internet. It was amazing!
Then I spent quite some time speaking with my parents, both of them, and this was quite strange. Not in a bad way, and I am not saying that we don’t speak, but this week I spoke with my father for 30 minutes on the phone. I think that this was the longest phone call we had ever. I was quite shocked. It’s not that we don’t speak, usually, just not on the phone. I also had some not so great news from my brother, but we have to wait out the lockdown before knowing more, so nothing to do here for now. At least, it is not urgent, so yay!
On the other hand, I may have some pretty great news on a personal level. And it was something that made me the happiest girl alive. But even here, we have to wait out the lockdown, so I won’t say more, at least for now!
All things considered, this week was quite a rollercoaster for my feeling, but I can’t complain too much!
On the blogging side of things, I would take part in two blog tours in April and I am quite excited for both of them! They would be in the second half of the month, or near that anyway, so you have to wait a little bit, but they are just soooo good!
That’s all for my week! How was yours? Have you done some great reading? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And how is going your life?? Let me know!
Happy reading!
S.
So many secrets, Susy😁 I’m glad you enjoyed Under Ordshaw. I’d love to find time to read it one of these days. Have a good week!

I haven’t read as much as I wanted, because I have read around 40 pages, given or taken, but so far is great!

Oh I get what you mean when you say talking on the phone! I even did face time with a friend while walking instead of going for lunch together! And yes so many secrets Susy!!
