Hello wonderful people! How are you? It seems like my mini-hiatus is ending, so here I am again. These past days I was off work because I had planned a mini-vacation for my anniversary with my boyfriend. The vacation has not happened, because of the coronavirus, but I was grateful for some days off work nonetheless. I was hoping to do a lot of reading (especially because here, in Italy, you can’t go out and do things so… time at home = reading time, right??) and, on this side, I am a bit disappointed because I haven’t read as much as I was hoping but I managed to relax and chill so… I am happy anyway!
What I am reading?
I am currently reading Smoke & Mirrors by Charlie Cochet. This is the seventh book in The T.H.I.R.D.S. series, and I have just started it, but I am in the right mood for something fun and easy. And I am reading Rise of Empire. I have finished the first book and now I am diving in the second one (the physical books of this series are made by two books each) and even if I prefer the first volume, I am not disappointed by this one too and I am so happy to be reading it!
What I have read?
The Scarecrow & George C was an overdue ARCs, and it was a sweet reading. It is not the perfect book, but it wasn’t bad either, and I enjoyed the reading. And the same I can say for Blood Engines. This book was on my Goodreads TBR and it sat there for a long time. To be honest, I was expecting something more from it, but all things considered, it was an enjoyable reading with some interesting characters, so I would continue with the series, at least for now. It is true that this is a new series, but I haven’t considered the ebooks I have on other devices which aren’t my e-Reader. So yeah, I have started a new series, because I haven’t taught at all at my other devices, and since I am just using them when I have no other choices, they are just a minor part of my reading, so I would keep ignoring them, at least for now!
What would I read?
I am not 100% sure, because I have some time yet before finishing my current reads, so I can change my mind. But I received this book and I am curious about it, so it is quite a good guess to say that this would be my next reading.
Blogging and Real Life!
Well, I have written almost all I have to say on the introduction of the post, so I haven’t a lot to say. But I can say that the next week would be online a new Blame it on the community post, and I am looking forward to writing that post.
Also, this week I have used my free time to watch something. I finally started the second season of Altered Carbon. I loved the first one, and I think this second one is not keeping up with my expectations, but it’s not bad, at least so far. And I was hoping to manage to do a sort of The Big Bang Theory marathon, and you know what? I am doing it! With my times, because I am slow going and I am not really a big binge watcher, but I managed to watch two seasons of it. Yay! And I used some of my spare time to go back to yoga. My back was really needing it, and even if now I am almost always sore I am very happy about it! I hope to keep it going even the next week when I would go back to work!
That’s all for my week! How was yours? Have you done some great reading? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And how is going your life?? Let me know!
Happy reading!
S.
For some reason I didn’t realize you lived in Italy. I hope you are staying safe! And I’m glad you get lots of time to read and stay in with your boyfriend 😁

Sorry you weren’t able to do much on your break but a break is a break nonetheless! I’m still trying to figure out if I want to take my vacation day on Friday for my anniversary given that a) we won’t be able to go anywhere and b) my husband and I will both be home anyway as we’re working from home right now. I might just save my vacation day. Hope you have a great week!

At least I relaxed and enjoy the hell out of my time at home! And I see why you are indecise, saving vacation day is always good but, as you said, a break is always a break!

It’s so true that what should have been a chance to read to one’s heart content has not worked as we hoped, but I guess we are still mentally adapting to the lockdown and will need more time to form new habits and new frames of reference…
Stay safe! 🙂

That too, and to be honest I was used to be on my own, this couple thing 24/24 7/7 is taking some time out of my reading time but… I am not complaining here!!
And you too, stay safe!
