Hello people! How are you? And how are your reading going? February is ending… today is the last day and I just can’t! How it is possible??? And yet, February was quite a full month, even if it flew by, and so I won’t waste any more time… here we go!
Books read: 19 + 2 very short novellas + 1 DNF
Physical books Vs ebooks: 3 vs 16
ARCs: 5
Well, even if February is the shortest month, it was very rich in reading. And I am happy to say that I had some pretty good reading, too, so not just quantity, but quality too. And I am so happy about it! I have read very few physical books, but that was expected since my TBR for February was made only by ebooks. But I worked a bit on the series I am following, so I am ok with it, even if I would try and be more balanced in March. And I managed to read 5 ARCs. I am feeling proud of myself! Also, I had another DNF this month, and I was sad about it, but it just wasn’t making sense going on with that reading so… bye-bye! And now let’s see which are the books I am speaking about!
The Amazing!
I really love Ilona Andrews books and the last year I finished all the books I could find written by her and I was… I don’t know which word would be the more correct to describe the misery I was in! So this year I got to read two more books (and maybe there would be another one along the way!) and it was pure bliss. Both of them were even better than what I was expecting and I just loved them from the start to the end. Pure, pure bliss!
The Extraordinary Good!
All those books were amazing, and they are just a little bit behind Andrews’ books. Just a hair, a minuscule thing really. All of them are amazing, astounding and they fascinated and captivated me. And yes, you may be noticing a theme, here, because in February I tried to do some “series-reading” and I am quite proud to say that I managed it! I have started a new series, Cast in Shadow, but I had this series in my TBR for ages, really, and I read so many books from series that I have started that I deserved it. And now I am soooo looking forward to its sequels! Night Silence is the 12th book in the October Daye series and it was so sweet to be back with all these amazing characters. I missed this world, and I have another sequel waiting for me. So I just hope to don’t let too many time pass before getting to it! Fire Touched was the 9th book in the Mercy Thompson series, while the other two books by Briggs are the 2nd and 3rd of the companion series. I love more Mercy’s series, because it’s more complete (it has romance, adventure, action, and mistery) while the companion one has all the things mentioned, yes, but it’s more about the romance part. But it’s great and I love it all the same! These are two amazing series!
The Very Good!
In February I have read two non-fiction books, and both of them were very good reading! They were quite different, as you can imagine (one about the tarots, and one about etiquette books and culture) but highly informative, without being boring, or too academic or pompous or… you get the gist, right? They were well written, with a personal touch in them, highly informative, and interesting.
The Good!
Heroes Wanted is an anthology about heroes, all kind of, and it was interesting reading. I am not a big fan of anthologies, but I was curious to read something written by all the authors here so… I just had to give it a try. And it was enjoyable! The Chestnut Man was a good thriller, but it was lacking something, sadly. And the same I can say about Bound By Flames. Not about the thriller part, obviously, but I was expecting more from this one! I would read the next book in the series, but I am not so eager about it. And, speaking about series, I would drop the one by Marissa Meyer. I enjoyed Cress but not as much as I was expecting. I like the characters, but not loved them, and I discovered that I don’t care a lot for the story so… no sense keep it going! And then I have read Beneath The Sugar Sky. I enjoyed this book, a lot, but, so far, it is the least favorite of the series. But I have great expectations for the sequels!
I was very good with the ARCs this month, because I read quite some of them, and almost all of them are in this group: The Bard’s Blade, The Unspoken Name, Fire & Water and The Devil’s Apprentice. All of them were good, even if all of them could have been something more. I have written a review for almost all of them, and the one missing is on the making so I won’t tell more about them. And then we have Swords And Scoundrels. With this book, I had some start and stop, because I wasn’t in the right mood for it, and then I didn’t have the time to just be drawn into it and so it takes me so much time to finish this one! And it wasn’t bad! Ok, I was expecting something more from it, too, but it was a good book, enjoyable and interesting and I would read the sequels, that’s for sure!
The DNF!
This book was the second of this series. I enjoyed the first one, even if I didn’t love it and I let a lot of time before deciding to read this second book that all my interest was lost, and the book didn’t manage to interest me anew. Usually, in this kind of books, we have some humor around, some sassiness, something like that. But I didn’t find it in there, and I wasn’t so interested in the characters or the story so I have chosen to let it go. Even if I was very sad about it!
Series:
Finished: 0 but 2 dropped and 3 reached the last volume published
Continued: 5
Well, I think I did great with the series, even if I didn’t really finish anything I have dropped 2 series from my never-ending pile of series, and I have reached the last published volumes for 3 of them. And I continued 5 series, 5!!! I am feeling so happy!!!
My Review!
–The Bard’s Blade by Brian D. Anderson
–The Unspoken Name by A.K. Larkwood
–Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire
–Fire and Water by Alexis Hall
–All King’s Traitors by Keylin Rivers
I couldn’t believe it myself, but I managed to write quite some reviews, and I published also something on the blog… wow! This month I am proud because I have started two new memes, or maybe three… and I really hope to keep them going!

–Blame it on the community #1

What to expect on March?
In February I did a TBR and I managed to read all the books I have put in there, so yay! But in March I would go without any TBR. Since I have just posted the page with all my lists and since I am working on a project about the series, I would try and concentrate on them in March, maybe trying to read more of different genres, since February was pretty much mono-thematic. Yes, I have read two non-fiction books, a high-fantasy one, and a thriller, but the largest part of my reading was urban-fantasy. So maybe I would try and differentiate a bit in March. But I would try to just check off some title from the lists and the series I am following. And it feels like an overwhelming task!
That aside, I really hope to keep the new memes going, and I am sooooo looking forward to them!
In Real Life!
The shortest month, but so full of things! First and foremost, moving. My boyfriend finally moved in with me and the moving was not traumatic but quite time consuming, and my home is resembling more a home than an encampment now, but we have some more work to do about it. We were almost done, or at least on the good path to being so and then we went derailed. Some small changes at our working schedule was the beginning of it, but the final blow was the flu.
I caught the flu, and after a couple of days, he caught the flu. Just fantastic! Yes, it was expected but… fantastic anyway.
At least I had some time to just chill and relax, even if it wasn’t planned!
Ok, this was quite a long post, but I am done, at least for today!
And what about you? How was your February? And have you read some of the books I have mentioned? And what have you planned for March?? Let me know!!!
Happy reading!

It was quite the surprise to me, even!! I was very lucky (and being sick helped, even if I won’t call that “lucky” 😉)

Oh, Chronicles of Elantra! I listened to about a half dozen of those on audio when I used to have a really long commute. Hope you continue to enjoy the series!

Oh wow, those are lots of books! And lots of good ones 🙂
I will be listening to ‘Beneath the Sugar Sky’ in March and hope I enjoy it! Wasn’t a huge fan of the 2nd part of the series. I loved the first though and the concept so I keep up with it!

That’s a huge amount of books, great job. Honestly looks like a lot of great reads too. I am so far behind on that Mercy Thompson series, I just picked up River Marked the other day in an effort to get caught up, hopefully I’ll be able to read it soon. Hope you have a great March!
