Mid Year Freak Out Tag!

Hello and happy Monday, people! How are you? And how are your reading going? I am quite satisfied by mine, even if I have really a little time to dedicate to them, and that makes me soooo sad! But at least they are great books, so I can’t really complain, can I?
Anyway… since we are in July, I dare say that is the right time to do this tag, and yes, I am a little bit late to the party but… oh well!

1. BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2019:

I have this little problem that I cannot choose. I simply can’t. And I think it’s ok, because all of those books are, in a way or in another, great books, that surprised me, that moved me, that fascinated me, and that I loved.

2. BEST SEQUEL OF 2019 SO FAR?

I promise I would try my best with the next prompts, and I’ll try to choose just one book for every single one of them. But I just have to make a little shout out for all these amazing books I have read so far. And I hope that the second half of the year would keep in store some more great reading for me!

3. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET, BUT WANT TO?

I have a ton of books that can fit this prompt, sadly, but this one is one that I really want to read. I won a copy of it with a giveaway and I am here, trying to find the right moment to start it!

4. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE OF THE SECOND HALF OF 2019?

dvxm80u

I know that we would have some great books coming in the second half of 2019, but for once, I have no problems whatsoever to choose one! I need this book and I need it now!

5. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?

77jnxmg

Sadly this year I had some disappointment, but I think that this one was the worst of them. It could have been so much more, and, in the end, I was really disappointed by it.

6. BIGGEST SURPRISE?

5xkibtm

I wasn’t expecting much from this book, and in the end it really surprised me! It was so original and so well developed that… yep, this one was the biggest surprise, at least so far!

7. FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU) ?

yn3zfen

I am really looking forward to her next book! This one was so good and so surprising that I need to read more!

8. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH?

I think that my newest crush (or crushes, really) are Ash and Lyre from Chase the Dark by Annette Marie. Ash more than Lyre, but they both were quite adorable! But, to be honest I loved at least a couple of characters for each book that I loved. And they are quite a lot!

9. NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER?

It’s not so new, but I think that this title goes, again, to Glotka form The First Law Trilogy by Abercrombie. So far I have read 2 books out of 3, and I keep thinking that Inquisitor Glotka is one of the best character ever!

10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY?

kicxdhk

I don’t think there is one, properly, but a couple of the books I have read so far really moved me. One of them is Lake Silence, but since I have nominated it before, I’ll try something new and say Sadie. I had a complicated relationship with this book, but I can’t deny that is moving.

11. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY?

ruepw6z

Gail Carriger is quite a genius and I think that we need more of her books around, because they are delicious and funny and brilliant! And they always made me happy.

12. FAVORITE BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION YOU’VE SEEN THIS YEAR?

awdbv8z

Last year I nominated Altered Carbon, so another tv series is in order. I don’t watch a lot of movies so it wasn’t even a choice. And I think this one is the only adaptation I have watched so far, this year, so… this is the one!

13. FAVORITE REVIEW YOU’VE WRITTEN THIS YEAR?

Oh my… I don’t know if it is good or not, but I am really proud to have written it down because I find really hard to talk about Pratchett’s books because they are so brilliant, so full of so many things, that I simply can’t… but you know what? I have tried it and managed something intelligible, so yeah, I’d say that my favorite is Feet of Clay review.

14. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU BOUGHT OR RECEIVED SO FAR THIS YEAR?

mkmkndw

Half graphic novel, half essay on the philosophers of history, this book is the cutest thing ever. And yes, I have yet to read it, because I am a really bad bookworm!

15.BOOKS YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR

Well, I was a good blogger up to this point, and this is the last prompt so… I think I can choose again more than one book, right?! Anyway… I hope to read them all before the ending of this year, because I have a ton of series to keep up with!

Since I am a bit late to the party, I won’t nominate anybody, but if you haven’t done this tag yet and you want to do it, well, consider yourself nominated!

And what about you? Have you posted this tag? And what are the books that you hope to read before the ending of this year? Let me know!

Happy reading!
S.

I had a hard time picking just one book for each prompt too, so I didn’t! I loved Lake Silence so much, and the 2nd book, Wild Country, was just as good!
