Hello people! How are you? Sadly my vacations ended and I am back to work (and to suffer the hot, argh!) but I enjoyed myself during the vacations and I had a lot of great reading, so I can’t complain, or I can’t complain too much. Anyway, I’m back to blogging, too, and this makes me really happy! And I have chosen to celebrate my coming back with all the recap posts, the first of which would be this wonderful meme hosted by Avalinah!
State of the ARC is a monthly meme atAvalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.
July was a great month and I have read some good books, and I have read some ARCs, too, yeah! But I wasn’t quite good as I was in June. I am quite satisfied with myself nonetheless, but I hope to do better in the next months. Also, the box of shame would keep me company for some time yet… but hey! I’m hoping to see that thing goes soon!!!
My Current State of the Arc!
Netgalley- total: 51 ARC
Not due: 10
Overdue, Unread: 32
Read, Review Due: 9
Author- total: 19
Overdue, Unread: 1
Read, Review Due: 18
So… I am quite satisfied because the NetGalley ARCs haven’t grown. I have to post some reviews but at least I didn’t acquire new books and I am really glad about it. But I can’t say the same thing about the authors’ ARCs. It’s just that I can’t say no when an author contacts me. I have to do something about it, because it makes me really, really happy when an author reaches out to me and ask me to read his or her book, and so it’s hard to say no but I have a ton of readings to do, argh! Anyway… I hope to do better with them, too!
Bricks Knocked Down
In July I have read 4 ARCs: Double Down by A. Torre, and I was dying to read this second book! Song by Jesse Teller, this one was the only book sent to me by the author, all the others were from NetGalley. I liked it a lot and I have the review waiting for you! Scorpio Hates Virgo by A. Sunday was a great summer reading and I liked quite a lot And then there were crows by A. Leyva. I hope to talk about all of them really soon!
And I posted the review for three books: The Great Hearts, a book that I loved, Napa Noir and the first three books in the Jamie Quinn Mystery Series.
Let’s get motivated!
I know, Heart of Mist and Exile were here the last month, too, but I hope to get to them really soon! Both of them are books sent to me by the authors, so the third one is a book from NetGalley because I hope to read them too! Also, I hope to get done some reviews… I have some overdue ones that are just waiting for me to write them down! I can do it!!!
And that’s all, folk! I hope to come back the next month with this meme and feel proud of myself!
And now it’s up to you! How was your month, ARCs wise? And do you participate in this wonderful meme? And… did you know the books mentioned above? Let me know!
Happy reading!

I hope to get to it soon! I let it wait for a long time and I am starting to feel guilty about it!

Great update! That Fawkes book looks sooo interesting!
I picked up 2 commitments (even though I told myself I wasn’t going to for a while), so I’ll be working on those in August. 🙂

Yep, The Fawkes seems quite interesting, even if I keep hearing mixed things about it and now I am a little bit scared. But also curious… mostly curious, yep!
And I hope you would love them!!! 🙂

Great job this month with your ARCs, Susy! I’m with you on having 1.5 billion books read and only about 6 reviews actually written XD It’s so difficult to write a quality book review! But I know you can do it. At this rate, you’ll make it through all your ARCs by the end of the year. Keep it up!

Thank you!! And I really hope to write down more reviews… reading the book is really the easiest task! But we bookworms would conquer it!

I’ve started to set aside time to outline book reviews once I’ve finished reading them. It’s helping a bit? At least I have some place to start when I set down to write a real review! XD

That’s a great idea! I think I would copy that because it would help me immensely! Thank you ❤

Thanks for joining, Susy! I think you linked up an old State of the ARC to the linkup – but no worries, I found the newest one 😀
That’s too bad it’s time for work. I’m taking my vacations late this year – a little now, and a little more at the end of August 🙂 congrats on not growing that NG pile! Hope this is a good reading month for you 🙂
