State of the ARC #4

State of the ARC is a monthly meme at Avalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.

Hello people! How are you? And how are your reading going? June was a lucky month for me and I hope that July would live up to expectations, too! I am particularly satisfied with myself this month because I managed to do quite good with my ARCs. As always, I could have done better (namely: I could have stopped the requests on NetGalley. I may be a NetGalleyaholic and I would try to work on it in July, I promise!). I really did a good job, if I can say so myself, but my Stats aren’t good yet, so I would keep the Box of Shame for some time, still.

My Current State of the Arc!

Netgalley- total:   51 ARC
Not due: 12lyealys
Overdue, Unread: 34

Bricks Knocked Down

This month I read a lot of ARCs, for my standard. Usually, I read 3 of them every month, given or taken, but this month I did good (I know, I said this at least a million times, I know, but it’s just that I am so happy about it!!!!). But back on tracks! I’ve read a total of 10 ARCs. Truth be told, one of them, Perfect World, was a manga and two of them were really quick reading, A Huntsman’s Fate prequel and A Quick & Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns, but those are just details! I also loved most of them and liked all the others, so yay again!

I loved Even Money by Alessandra Torre, and I need the sequel right now, and The Great Hearts by David Oliver (I’ll write a review for this one as soon as I can, promise!), Rise and Run by RJ Plant, this was a great surprise, and We ride the storm by Devin Madson, and Redemption’s Blade by Adrian Tchaikovsky!

But I haven’t just done great with the reading parts! I managed to write some reviews, too! I wrote a review for some of the books I have read this month, but also some reviews that were overdue or for books that I have read previously! I wrote a total of 7 reviews: 2 overdue and 5 for books that I have read this month. And I hope to write some other reviews in July! I won’t post as much as in June because in July I would go on vacation for two weeks, but I hope to manage to post at least some of them!!!!

Let’s get motivated!

I don’t know what would I read in the next month, because I am quite in a moody mood, if this makes sense for you, but I really hope to read these three books! But more than get some reading done, I hope to manage to write a lot of reviews. A girl can hope, right???

And that’s all, folk! I hope to come back the next month with this meme and feel proud of myself!
And now it’s up to you! How was your month, ARCs wise? And do you participate in this wonderful meme? And… did you know the books mentioned above? Let me know!
Happy reading!
S.

Nice update!! Way to go on reading so many. I managed to read 3 of the 4 I committed to, and am about 15% into the final one. I’m going to have to ban myself from NetGalley going forward if I want any hope of progress on my Overflowing challenge lol. It’s just sooo easy to hit “request”!

That’s the problem! It’s so easy to just hit “request”! And you can’t just not go on NetGalley because you need to post the feedback, and once you are there… all bets are on! 😉
Anyway, you did great, too! 🙂 I hope you enjoyed them 🙂

What did you think of Perfect World? I read a while back and it was my first ever graphic novel! I thought GNs were all superheroes and that sort of thing so was pleasantly surprised by such a serious subject being presented so well. I’m a GN fan now!

There are a lot of manga that have more serious subjects, and GN too, and it’s a thing I love!
And I liked Perfect World, I think that the author know what she’s saying and I liked how toughtful the story was 🙂

Wow you read so many! I have one ARC left to read but I’m in a book slump and I’m not able to get to it. Let’s hope that once my finals are done my reading picks up!

It’s encouraging to see that other bloggers also have trouble keeping their hands off of the “Request” button! 😀 I am past 80% for the first time right now and trying VERY hard to restrain myself from going on a request spree. And also, 10 ARCs is RIDICULOUSLY good! Proud of you! ❤

Thanks!! ❤ And I have just finished Song today! It's a complex book, but it was a good reading, yay!
I think I would just read by moods in this period. I 'm trying to give precedence to the books sent to me by the authors, but in the end it would be my mood to choose the reading! 🙂
