Series Maniac! #3 Middle-Year Edition

Hello folks! At last I am here with this post! I wanted to sit down and write it since June started and now we’re running to the end of it, this month really flew by! For this post I would consider the books that I have read till the beginning of the month, the books that I have read in June would not be considered.

Since we have reached the half of the year I’d like to do a recap of some sort (I have done one with a wonderful tag, too) and talk about… drums please… series! Have I finished some of them? Have I started some new ones? Keep reading!

Series ended: 5!!!!!!!

loved three of them: Crooked Kingdom, Etched in Bone and Saint Astray. All three of them were amazing and play havoc with my feeling! I liked The Night Angel Trilogy and I enjoyed The Land of the Night. This last one was thought as the last one (at the beginning of my copy the author clearly stated so, too) but then the author changed her mind and add some books to it. But for me, this series ended here. I really liked the first two books but I found this third one not so interesting and to me, it seemed like the author hadn’t so much to say with this story.

One of my reading goal for this year was to finish 5 series so… I’ve done it and we’re just in the middle of the year! I am really really really happy! And I hope to get to finish some more series in the next six months!

Best New Series: (started 13)

I have started 13 new series (and I have counted only the series that I want to continue), so I wasn’t so good, but oh well! And these six titles are the one that I loved the most! Also, I continued one of them, I have read Every heart a Doorway and the second one. Now I need to read the third one!!!!

Best series continued:

I know that I have said this a lot of times, but this was really a great year! I mean, these first six months were so rich of wonderful books! So, yes, I was really a lucky girl! All those books were great! And I couldn’t wait to go on with all these series! There is one non-fantasy book, the THIRDS series, and yes, it’s true that it’s not at the same level as the others, but I enjoyed these series immensely so far! I read the first book in December, and now I have to read the fifth one. Three books in the same year for me is quite a lot! And to be fussy, the Nightrunners series was a re-reading. I have started it some years ago and read the first two books, but then I stopped (it wasn’t his fault, really, this series is amazing!) and this year I wanted to read the third ones, but instead I decided to re-read first the two books before it. I’ve read them, and loved them again, and now I am ready to dig in the third one!

I wanted to talk about the series that I hope to end/continue and start in the next half-year, but this post is longer than expected so I’ll stop here for today!

And what about you? Have you finished some series? Or continued or started a new one? and have you read the books I have mentioned?
Happy reading!
S.

Unfortunately I seem to have a rather bad knack of starting more series than finish – Seanan McGuire being a perfect example as I currently have two unfinished series that she wrote. You seem to be doing very well with your series – I need to take a leaf out of your book methinks

Me too! I have two of the McGuire series ongoing and I am really looking forward to start a third one, yep, I am that bad (but for one of them I have read all the published books, so I am not feeling guilty for that one! 😉 ) And I am really satisfied with my reading, I hope that the rest of the year would live up to the expectations! 🙂

Yeay for meeting your goal! I think I caught up or finished 10 series so far this year but none were on my list haha. The Last Necromancer looks interesting. Necromancer always pull me attention.
