Down the TBR Hole #7

Hello people! How are you? In this period I am tired, always tired. I wake up tired and I go to sleep tired. I think it’s humidity fault. I want a nice spring! Or a nicer autumn. But I am not a big Summer’s fan. Sadly.
Anyway! Today I finally post this meme (hosted by Lost in a story) again. And I really, really need to do it!

It works like this:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go? (I’ve added the “maybe” choice because I simply can’t choose and so I added this category. If I read or start the books on the maybe list before June I would keep them, if not they have to go!)

The Books:

I think I am slowly growing out of YA, to be completely honest. But I really wanted to read this one, even if I am not a fan of super-heroes, of any kind. I really can’t remember why I wanted to read this book. But I really, really wanted it so I think I would trust my old self!

Verdict: Keep!

The plot isn’t so captivating, really. But it’s a steampunk and I’m constantly telling myself that I need to read more of them. I like steampunks but I don’t read them enough! And the characters seem quite interesting!

Verdict: Keep!

I can say to you, even before starting to read the plot, that I have added this one for the cover. It’s the kind of cover that catches my eyes, and if this isn’t so true anymore, it was true at the time I have added this to the list. And I was ready to dismiss it. But then I’ve read the synopsis and… well, it doesn’t seem so bad.

Verdict: Keep!

This book seems the wrong kind of urban-fantasy to me. (I had written at lenght in a review some times ago, but to be short about it I usually divide the urban-fantasy into two categories, and from the plot, this one really seems to be part of the group that I like less). But, the plot seems intriguing and I really have a soft spot for UF.

Verdict: Keep!

I don’t remember this book, at all. But the plot isn’t doing a thing for me and I think that this one would be the goner of today!

Verdict: Remove!

At least I managed to say goodbye to one book! I suppose that this is better than nothing, but… oh well! I just have to keep in mind this list when I chose my next reading, I suppose!

Did you read any of these books? What do you think of my choices? Let me know!

Happy reading!
S.

I think I’ll start this meme too. I have way to many books on my GoodReads want to read shelf!
And I agree with you on summer! I can’t sleep well when it’s so hot, I can’t concentrate and I have no motivation to move 😅 I’m definitely a winter person
