State of the ARC #3

State of the ARC is a monthly meme at Avalinah’s Books meant to motivate you to finish up all your long overdue ARCs (Advanced or Early Reader Copies). You can track your reading progress and link up with your own post. Most commonly it comes out on the 30th of every month.

Hello people! How are you? And how was your month? We’re in June right now but I can’t convince myself of it! But I am not here to complain about the time that flies or the weather that is constantly changing (even if I really could spend some time complaining about this because… really? What are you doing, weather??). I’m here with this wonderful (and super useful!) meme so let’s start with it!

My Current State of the Arc!

Netgalley- total:  44 ARC
Not due: 10lyealys
Overdue, Unread: 28
Read, Review Due: 6

Author- total: 15
Overdue, Unread: 14
Read, Review Due: 1

Bricks Knocked Down

I loved two of them and I was disappointed in the last one. So not bad, right? And I really liked the first two books and now I want more! Shoot the Messenger by Pippa DaCosta has an interesting world-building and the story is fast-paced, but the best thing is the plot twist! It’s great. I wanted to read something from this author for sometimes and now I have to read her other books! I hope to write a proper review soon. While the Bones and Bourbon ‘s review is online, so I would be short: really original urban-fantasy with interesting characters. Loved it! And then there is New Voices of Fantasy and well… this one was disappointing. I liked a couple of short stories, a couple were meh but the other ones really bored me!

Let’s get motivated!

In May I have read fantasy all month long, and I was thinking about a little change in the genre… but it doesn’t seem a probable thing. Not that I am complaining. I love fantasy and I am excited to read these three books! I’m dying to start them, to be honest!! And I hope to write at least a couple of overdue reviews! Two of them are ARCs that I received in May, and I have requested a couple of others, but just two, I promise! So maybe there would be two more books to add to the total of ARCs, but I’ll try to stop the request at least for June. I can resist a month, right???

And that’s all, folk! I hope to come back the next month with this meme and feel proud of myself! Or at least a little bit productive in the ARCs’ department. This last expectation is way more realistic, but a girl can hope, right?!?

And now it’s up to you! How was your month, ARCs wise? And do you participate in this wonderful meme? And… did you know the books mentioned above? Let me know!
Happy reading!
S.

I’ve just requested Redemption’s Blade – it looks so intriguing!

My State of the ARC isn’t as bad as it could be, but I have an awful feeling that’s because I’ve been forgetting to add some to my tracker. And I know I shouldn’t be reading any in June because of my deadlines. So I guess there’s an ARC August in my future!

Thanks! 🙂 I’m doing good (or, at least, I was imagining a worse situation, so I am glad) but I hope to do better in June! And I hope you would conquer your ARC list soon!
And yes, Shoot the Messenger is the first in a new series 🙂

I don’t get as many physical ARCS but looking forward to participating in meme as I got too carried away with Netgalley from 2015 so want to get through those so I can bring my % back up again.
