April Wrap Up!

Hello people! How are you? And how are your reading going? April wasn’t a great month for the blog, that’s sadly true, but it was a really great month for my reading! I read a lot of great books and I have great expectations for May, so… here is my recap!

April Reading Stats:
Books read: 15
Ebook: 11
Books: 4
ARCs: 2

5 stars

I love Seanan McGuire, but this series is a surprise! It’s great, original and the storytelling is top notch! And Gemina was spectacular! I need the third book right now!!!

4 stars

Catch 22 was a great reading and I loved it, but I went really slow with it because I needed a lot of time to let it sit. The Ninth Rain was pretty good, even if I was expecting something more, tbh. But the worldbuilding was really captivating and the characters were all good! Shadowblack was a great reading and De Castell is quickly becoming one of my favorites! Rise & Fall is the fourth book in the THIRDS series and I loved it (it made me laugh out loud on the train!)

3.5 stars

Flow was a really interesting reading. Usually, I don’t read a lot of non-fiction, but sometimes I get curious and I like to go out of my comfort zone, from time to time. Rack & Ruin is the third book of the THIRDS series, and it was quite good. This series is really fun as hell. From Long John Silver I was expecting something more, even if it was an interesting reading. I was expecting something more from Nice Dragons Finish Last too but it wasn’t a bad reading, either! And Death by Didgeridoo was a good surprise! I hope to read other books of this series soon.

This one was a meh paranormal, with some potentialities to it but nothing remarkable.

This was quite the disappointment. It wasn’t too bad and the author has a lot of potentials but the book is not well developed and to make it really simple, I expect more from books.

This book is complicated. On one hand is really good. The author does a great job with the atmosphere and the Russian folklore. It seems a real fairy tale and the imaginative behind all of that is quite unique. On the other hand, I didn’t enjoy myself while reading it, mostly because once I loved fairy tale, but now not so much… I like all the retelling and the modern fairy tale, but the classic structure isn’t for me, or isn’t for me in this period. So I really don’t know how to rate this book. It’s good, it really is, just it’s not for me.

Sounds like you had a pretty great reading month. I can’t wait to get to The Ninth Rain. I got it really cheap as an ebook. But I think I’m going to need a physical copy to read it. I’m really liking Jen Williams work with the copper cat trilogy.

Yes, April was really a great month! 🙂 And I’ve read The Ninth Rain on ebook but I would have preferred a physical copy of it, too. It would have been way better! This was my first Jen Williams’ book but I would read her other books!! 🙂 And I hope you would read this one soon 🙂
