Ok, this one it’s the last recap, I promise! And today I’ll speak with you about the series that I’ve watched. In November I was in a big reading slump (I think it was my worst ever!) but I had to do something with my time, or not? So I watched something.
I love tv series, and I love Asian drama and anime, but usually, I am a slow watcher and more times than not I prefer a book to everything else, so even if I like them, and like them a lot, I don’t watch much. It’s sad and I usually promise myself that I would do better and watch something and then… then I read. But the reading slump helped me, at least something good came out of it! And I started to watch something again… yay!
1) Finished tv series!
Izombie. I finished the first season. I liked the show, the first episodes better than the latest ones, but it was ok and I enjoyed the watching, but it took almost a year to finish this first season. And I haven’t yet decided about the second season. I’m not so interested in it, right now, but I can always change my mind as the time passes. I liked this series because it reminded me a lot of a book series, not the one from which they take the idea for this, but the one by Diana Rowland, White Trash Zombie. I read the first two books and I think that the ideas are really similar, not in a bad way.
Lore. I started this series the week before Halloween and I really liked it. It was the right thing at the right time. It’s creepy and interesting. But I finished it at the beginning
of December. This is not a long series. It counts six episodes, and they are well done and the voice of Aaron Mahnke is awesome (and yes, I know that this was in origin a podcast, and I like it a lot, too, even if I am not a listening person… and that’s a shame because there are a lot of interesting podcasts out there!!!!). Anyway, I really liked it and I hope they would make a second season, sooner or later.
American Gods. This series is one that I started and finished in a short time, at least for my standard and it wasn’t so bad, but it wasn’t so good either. I was expecting something more,
especially from the ending. It’s true that I am not a fan of the book. I know, I know… everyone loved Gaiman’s book, but… sorry, not me. But I was curious and so I watched it. To be honest I don’t know if I would watch the second season.
2) Ongoing series.
Breaking Bad. I know this would be a really unpopular opinion, but this series is my cross to bear. I don’t like it. And I mean really really DON’T! When was just a series of which all were talking about I thought that the idea was good, interesting and that it was original. But then I started to watch it… to please my boyfriend, who keeps saying that it would go better if just I keep on watching it. So from time to time we sit together and watch an episode. We watched the first season and we are slowly approaching the end of the second one. But I keep to dislike it. I really can’t get to it. I don’t like the characters, I don’t like the story and I find the episodes boring. But he keeps hoping. So I blackmailed him… sort of, but hey! What’s it a little blackmail when there is love, right?? I keep watching this series and he started a k-drama with me. I am a little devious girl, I know!
The Lizzie Borden Chronicles. I started this one in October and loved it. But I am halfway through it and I have yet to finish it. But I would, definitely! Because I am enjoying this show a lot!
3) Ongoing Drama
W. If I am slow at watching the series I am even slower with dramas. I like them more, to be honest, I like tv series but I love drama, but they are usually longer so they need more time to watch and so I am always behind with my watching. Anyway… I started this one and I’m almost halfway through it. I think that in a couple of months I can finish this one (I said you I am a slow watcher, right?) and I am really liking it! It’s a good drama, the actors are good and the story is entertaining, but it’s also interesting because it deals with the relationship between authors and their creations.
Pinocchio. I know… More than one drama at a time, it’s this truly a good idea? Well, it’s not bad. Sometimes I can binge-watch drama, it’s an almost unique event, but it may happen, and when I do it I just watch one drama, but when I take my sweet time to watch the series, it may happen that my interest disappear, so I try to watch something else, from time to time, to distract myself. And this is the something. I just watched 4 episodes, so I am not really into the story yet, but I am going there, and I think this is really cute.
Secret Garden. This was my first drama ever and I loved it, and I love it now, too, deeply! Usually I am not a big fan of rewatching, but this is the drama that I am watching with my boyfriend (I blackmailed him into watching this… for further details read the part about Breaking Bad) and we’re halfway through it! I think that maybe next we can watch some drama with a little bit more of action into it!
4) Ongoing Anime
Black Clover. Maybe it’s not the best things to add anime on top of all of the others things I’m trying to watch, but I like anime, too, and sometimes I try to watch them. Also, I have to say, that my span of attention is awfully short, so I need to try different things or I get bored out of my mind, even if I am enjoying the series that I’m watching. It’s the same with movies… I get some difficulties to watch them because I get bored even when I like them. Anyway… we were speaking about anime! I’ve started this series and I am enjoying it. I’m not in love and I watched 8 episodes… so far didn’t happen a lot, to be honest, but it’s not bad and it manages to be fun, here and there.
The Ancient Magus Bride. Usually I watch an anime at a time, because they are shorter than the series and it’s easier for me to follow them without boring myself, but these two anime are still ongoing, so when I reach the last available episode I switch to the other one… smart, right?? I’ve watched 9 episodes of this one and I am liking it, a lot. It doesn’t happen much here, too, but the art is awesome! And I really like Elias and Chise.
Ok, this was really a loooooong post! Sorry about that! And sorry about the awful layout… I have a lot of problems with pics in the post, but I’ll try to do better! And you… what are you watching? Did you watch some of this series? Tell me!
Happy watching!
S.
Ah great choices, Susy! I won’t start iZombie because it’s incomplete and there’s no point in getting into it… I do plan to start American Gods, and I didn’t know about Lore so that sounds like an interesting show as well 🙂
I’m always looking for Korean drama recs so thanks for those! As for anime, I’ve been hearing a lot about The Ancient Magus Bride but I’m not sure how I feel about their relationship. Will give it a try, though!

I hope to read about what you will think about American Gods! And I hope you get to Lore, if it seems interesting to you, because it was really good! 🙂

I love this blog feature!
I totally struggled through Breaking Bad too. I didn’t get the hype. I’ve had Lizzie Borden on my Netflix list for a while now so it’s good to see your opinion.
