Serious? Series! #1 Dirk Gently

Hi people! How are? And how are your reading going? Today I’m here with a new… feature? Meme? What do you say it’s better? And I want to speak about a new (for me) tv series that I really loved! When I started this blog I wanted to talk about anything that gets me interested, but it seems that I am writing just about books. Well, I love books, I love reading and half of the time you can find me with a book hooked under my nose (or my fateful Ereader, but that’s the same thing) so in the end it’s natural that I am here babbling about books almost all the time, but I want to try something new, I want to share with you all the things that make me happy, and so here I am to talk with you about a tv series that I adored!

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is a BBC America comic science fiction detective television series, taking place after the Douglas Adams novel series of the same name. Created and primarily written by Max Landis, it stars Samuel Barnett as the detective Dirk Gently and Elijah Wood as his reluctant sidekick Todd.
The pilot episode introduces the bellboy Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood), as he encounters the slain body of millionaire Patrick Spring, and meets the eccentric Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett), introducing himself as a “holistic detective” investigating the murder.

The first season follows the odd pairing, with Todd serving as Dirk’s reluctant sidekick, as they get to know each other while digging into the Spring murder investigation. As the story evolves during the season, it grows to include the disappearance of Spring’s daughter Lydia, the secrets of the Spring family, hidden government operations, and a “holistic assassin” looking to kill Dirk.

I read the first two Adams’ books about this peculiar detective, and I liked it a lot, but, and I hope you won’t hurt me for saying so, I liked this series more. My boyfriend and I wanted to watch this series for a long time, but it’s hard to find the time to do it, but a Sunday noon we were together and I had some ironing to do, but he was here with me and I didn’t want for him to get bored, so I proposed to start this series while I was doing the ironing. At the end of the first episode I was comfortable sitting on my sofas, all the ironing forgotten, and I watched him (the boyfriend not the iron), he watched me and we were completely dumbfounded! The first thing we said each other was: “What the hell have we watched just now??” and the second was “Next one?”. And so we watched another episode, and then another, and another one. Until there were none.
And for me it’s really an impossible thing. Even when I love the series I can’t watch more than one or two episodes at times, because I get bored really easy, and distracted too, so this is a big first time for me!
And I loved it soooo much! It’s fun, humorous, hilarious, pure genius and demented, all at once. You watch the first episode and you really don’t know what’s happening. You watch the second and it’s the same! And so on! And even if you are at lost, because all is so… why?!?!? You have to love it because is really a fantastic tv series.

And the second series is airing right now! Give it to me right now and nobody will be hurt!

I know, that’s not a long post, and I am not making sense, but I just wanted to fangirl a little bit about it!

So… did you know this series? And the books? Let me know!
